What are you working on?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Lacewing will be out for iOS soon. I've already ported the library, I just need Andos to take a look at how we're going to bundle it together with the runtime.

It will support both TCP and UDP, and binary messages (just like it does on Windows and Android).

This is awesome. Looking forward to this :D

  • Well after a couple of days with my initial Blender training, it's obvious to me it's going to take a while. It feels very foreign to me and this weekend just to get the sense of being productive, I'm going to work on a game I've had on the back burner for a while. I have most of the parts sketched out and need to actually create the graphics.

Yeah after having tinkered with 3dsmax and Lightwave, Blender just seems really awkward.

Ho ho, that is pretty cool. I do like how Lacewing will soon be everywhere.

  • Lots going on there SortaCore.

Regarding the "iOS version of DarkSocket" how many paid requests are you looking for and what would be the cost? If you have any ideas please post it. At this time I am waiting for Lacewing.

I've successfully been able to use the Game Center multiplayer for turn based games but not for anything remotely close to real time. I think GC uses TCP vs. UDP for blasting out the the data. As well, it sends everything out as strings (I think) and that makes it incredibly slow. Even when some form of interpolation, it's still slow.

Well, I need to buy XCode, and I'll be using remote access to Australia or Sweden to use a Mac. o_O
If a part of DarkSocket is converted, the whole thing should be, including as many protocols as iOS supports, packet forming, checksum generating. I've found Lacewing to be exceptionally easy and effective to use, so I would recommend it for use until then. :)

  • Adam those look good, unabandonize them ;)

I'm working on a lacewing server similar to the old one that use to come with the extension downloads, you know - the one that had a config file and supported components that nobody knew how to make? I posted a beta in the Lacewing forum, along with the source...

Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

  • Yesterday, I learned how to texture objects and hope to create something more than a set of primitives.

I have a long waaay to go with Blender but confident that after a few months I'll be able to make something I could use in my next game.

  • Good job :) Now you get to play with all the fun things like bump mapping to give the surface variation and stuff like that!

There is so much to learn in Blender and yes, good point about bump mapping and surfaces. There's so many ways to work with objects. I find it very challenging.
