Mouse Pointer & Mouse controlled obejct

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

Clickteam.
  • Once you use an object ingame that uses Mouse control, the pointer will be removed.
Once this mouse movement is used, there is no reference to the mouse pointer or buttons
even when the object is destroyed (on that frame)
going to a new frame will enable the mouse actions.

an overisght by CT??, is there a way to force the mouse back to normal on that same frame after the mouse controlled object is destroyed?

  • OK a way around this is to set the object to XMouse and YMouse and hide the cursor with the mouse pointer and keyboard object that is built in to MMF2 and when the last of the object is destroyed, show the cursor with the same object.

    I see you.

  • it doesnt work LB. the Xmouse, YMouse are not active at all. its something ive never struck because ive always used custom mouse movement. when i used mouse control for this particular instance, i came across this dilema.
i have since just continued with the game by doing a frame jump; so im not stuck.

its like CT forgot to turn back on the mouse control after its not being used on a frame; unless there's some technical reason for it.

  • 13 years later, and this is still an issue btw. God, I LOVE clickteam.

Last year I found an issue in Lacewing that existed before I took over it some 13 years earlier - messages between 128-255 bytes and >65KiB wouldn't transfer properly.

These things do fall between cracks pretty often. There was a good bug report system once, but it went down and apparently it was using a bunch of obscure tech that didn't upgrade smoothly, so it's been down since.
