Planet Wars Peer Review

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

    I also think it's my longest-running project overall, as I remember starting this ages back. The iOS version of this was released last year. Since then I've been working to make it better and to also bring it to xbox.

    This version is by far the best- it's much more suited to xbox controls than a touch screen. I'm pleased to say it has fully-featured 4 player local co-op too, which took me aggggges to implement but was worth it.

    It's a top-down alien shooter with completely customizable weapons, an illustrated campaign and survival mode.

    After testing I think it's ready. Hopefully I haven't missed anything.

    If you guys could help peer review then that would be awesome :)

    Rather than FAIL it at the AppHub section I decided to post here, not sure whether that's a good thing or not?!

    The Survival Mode has a weird crash/bug that I can replicate quite easily.

    I enter survival mode with 2 players, I place all the initial factions down bar the last three and click 'Ready', the first wave has already commenced before I put down the first lot of buildings btw, there is only player 2 active on the screen.

    Then, the first wave is killed, wait for second wave... nothing. I paused, then resumed, it went to second wave, however they all spawned in the top-left corner and wasn't able to enter the screen so the machine-gun I had setup just killed them all one by one and it went to next wave, again, same process. The wave didn't come until I paused and resumed, when it did they all spawned in top left corner and were easily killed.

    I got to ~Wave 4 when I paused to get to wave 5 and the HUD disappeared completely and I have no control over the player using 2nd gamepad (whereas I did at first). I took some photo's as I there was no other way of getting a screenshot/debug info. That's about all I could do to help with this error dude...

    One can only assume, when your 'unpause / main loop' group is activated after resuming the next wave kicks in and it's not doing in real-time.

  • I just uploaded the one dude as they were all pretty similar, however it finally ended up with no HUD visible and no joypad movement. FYI: There was no player 1 from the beginning and player 2 spawned instantly on frame start with the first wave also coming in at the start.

  • Unless my XBLIG page is lying to me, I only need 2 more reviews to pass now. For some reason with this game I've only needed 4 reviews?

    I remember it being a lot more with MegaCity. Maybe it gets reduced after you have a game on there already?

    So if anybody hasn't and can & has the time, could you check it out? I promise to review your games when you have them ready for peer review! :)

  • Hi Cole,

    I'm back in the office today (Saturdays of all days!!!) this is after a well deserved week off though! I'll get on it and get it reviewed for you!

    I am at 83% now and I count 6 thus far, one can only assume 2 more reviews too. I heard that part of the 'algorithm' that goes into the % is the reviewers 'points' earned on the forums but it's a guess all round I think.

    Edit: Btw after checking your game page I see it's at 50%, mine shot up to 50% within the first two reviews. It slowed down after that.
