Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Ok, so I've been doing a lot of work on a game recently. I continued work on this game today and have periodically saved my project in two specific locations - on my main hard drive, and my external hard drive.

I have not exited MMF2 all day until about 15 minutes ago.

I then came up with a great idea for the game, so I reopened it from the main hard drive.

MMF2 DIDN'T SAVE ANY OF TODAYS WORK!

All that was there was a file from three days ago, when I last saved. I loaded up the file from my external hard drive. Exactly the same problem.

Basically I've completely wasted my time, and lost an entire days work. Angry is not quite the word I'm feeling right now.

Has anyone else had any problems like this?

Zone Runner: Anniversary Edition out now.

  • I've occasionally gotten an error that says that a file couldn't be accessed when trying to save. If you got an error that says that X (where X is the file) couldn't be accessed, then it won't save. If that happens, your best hope is to cut all of the objects, open a new MMF2 window, paste the objects into the new window, cut all of the events, paste all of the events into the new MMF2 window, then save the game from the new MMF2 window. If it won't let you cut, then all of your progress is lost. I've had that happen to me before, and sometimes it will let you cut/copy, sometimes it won't. (If it won't let you cut/copy, it will give you an error that says X (where X is the file) couldn't be accessed.)

(which I don't use anymore pretty much at all really). If there are awards for "'highest number of long forum posts", then I'd have probably won at least 1 by now. XD

  • I didn't get an error message whatsoever, that's the thing. I just saved my work frequently, then reopened it up in MMF2 to find that everything I created today has disappeared.. graphics, events... the lot. So there's no way I can copy and paste any objects because they're just not there :(

Zone Runner: Anniversary Edition out now.

  • I meant for you to do that in the future whenever you get an error like that, sorry if that wasn't clear. But since you didn't get an error message, I don't know what happened. Maybe the file got corrupted?

  • I've had something like this before with MMF but it was an isolated incident and I'm pretty sure it was only caused by the computer being low on memory. Any attempt to save would open the "Open file..." dialog instead. It was weird.

The way the subject has been phrased makes it sound like the problem is still happening. Have you tried making a small change to your game and saving it again as a test, or saving a new blank project?

  • I had an instance where I went to save my .mfa and it wouldn't- and also the old save was completely gone even though I had never once deleted it (!)

This really really sucked bad, thankfully it's only ever happened that one time. I have no idea how that happened but trust me, I NEVER delete those .mfa files so somehow when I went to save it, it erased the file and didn't let me save it again (??)
