Xcode Cannot Run Using The Selected Device

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Just upgraded to IOS Exporter Build 256 - Beta 2 - now getting this error on Xcode.

I updated latest Xcode (4.5), IOS 6 on iPad, Lion OS 10.7.5 - ERROR ON EXPORT.

However, it works for Xcode 4.4.1, IOS 6 iPad, and Lion 10.7.4 - WORKS FINE

Anyone got other combinations to report with Build 256 - Beta 2?

    Thanks

  • There is a problem with XCode 4.5 that actively denies to run the app if 'armv6' is listed in the devices it should compile for - we are working on that.

Currently you can try go to the XCode project properties and replace the contents of the 'Architectures' entry and the 'Valid architectures' entry to $(ARCHS_STANDARD_32_BIT) instead.
XCode will then itself figure out which architectures to use and it should work.

Please note that you can no longer compile for 2G devices with XCode 4.5 as Apple has removed support for them completely in their new development tools it seems.

  • Looks like my previous post was wrong. It was a weird issue with XCode not being able to change permissions on the app that was already installed on the device.
I fixed it by deleting the app from the device and then running it normally from XCode. Does that work for you?

  • I have similar problem. My iphone 3gs was today updated to ios 6.0 and xcode from 4.4 to 4.5. Now i cant run my app on any device iphone 3gs, ipod 4, ipad. Xcode still shows "Xcode cannot run the selected device". I had selected Architecture Armv 6,7 later only 7 and it doesynt work with both :(

  • As I wrote over email: Try if the recent beta 3 release of the iOS exporter works.

Manual change to make it work: Remove 'armv6' from the 'Valid Architectures' property in the XCode build settings.
