MMF 1.5 Game ---> Playable on Mac!

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I have a very old MMF 1.5 game on my harddrive, it's epic massive and almost finished. I want to finish it, but I also want people on Macs to be able to play it.

As I see it this would involve two steps:

    1) Open MMF 1.5 file in MMF 2 and fix all conversion errors
    2) Export Game either as .swf, Anaconda thing, iOS file(?), or Java Application for Mac (?)

Anyone ever taken the plunge and done any of these things?

    My thoughts:

Step 1: I'm finding kinda buggy and annoying in places. With missing extensions, more awkward functions etc. But probably doable.

Step 2: I have no idea about. Who's tried Anaconda? Can Mac's play .swf? Is Java Application for Mac even a thing? (It's mentioned in the "Can Build" section for MMF 2 Dev, but I can't see the option myself). I'm also told that the iOS exports only work for iPad/iPhone which I don't care about.

    Any help appreciated! So appreciated!

  • Java for Mac does work, it is not the runtime that we care about the most, but it can create a .app that will work natively on your Mac. Worth a try.
Anaconda is a really wonderful system, a truly cross platform runtime. The only inconvenience is the size of the executable file .

  • Thanks Francois. I just tested out the Java export - seems it can do nearly everything I want it to - but can't handle semi-transparency? Has there been any fix for that?

As for Anaconda - I'll try that out. Is it easy? Any there any really big limitations? Presumably there's only some extensions it supports...
