Bug - Layer Effects

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • There's a bug in the Subtract layer effect (possibly other ones, too?) where objects in the layer "pop out" after increasing their alpha-blending levels.

    Create a plain layer;
    Create a second layer and give it the Subtract effect;
    Place a screen-sized, solid-color Active Object in the Subtract layer;
    Always add one to the object's Alt. Value A and set its alpha-blending to its Alt Value A.

    You'll see that it suddenly pops between 230-255.

    Here's an example: Please login to see this link.

  • I don't know if they'll do anything about the subtract shader. I found a really bad visual glitch with it almost a year ago and no one's done anything about it yet. I don't know, maybe everyone's been too busy with other things to worry about a stupid little shader.

    I see you.

  • Corlen, can you post a link to the bug report that you filed regarding the subtract shader? Or describe it again? I'd be very interested in reading that because my project uses subtract extensively. Thanks!

  • Here it is, I posted it under the HWA forum. As you can see when I have a huge solid color active object over everything with the subtract shader, it messes up really bad.

    I see you.

  • Thanks for the link. I looked at it but I'm curious what you're doing that's causing that bug. I'm doing a lot with the subtract shader and I haven't seen anything like what you got yet. The worst stuff that I've encountered is just the inability to actually fade out objects that use Subtract.
