Image Editor Directions (Actives)

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • In the image editor for actives is there a way to have more than 4 directions? The reason I am asking is...
    1. I am working on an Asteroids style game
    2. I would like to have 16 or 32 images, one for each angle of the ship's direction.
    3. The lighting on the ship will come from the upper left so it would look weird to just rotate one image.

Here is an example of what I am trying to do from an arcade game called Blasteroids...

  • I'm sure there must be a reason Clickteam went to all the trouble of writing a help file...

"To change the number of directions, use the slider located under the direction selector. It consists of four settings, 4, 8, 16 and 32 directions. 32 directions take a lot of memory and should be reserved for the main objects of your application. Empty directions are marked by an empty square in the direction selector, whereas directions containing images are marked by a filled dot".

  • It's no trouble :)
...but for technical matters such as this, you'll generally be able to find the answer in the help files, in half the time it takes for someone to respond to a forum post (similarly, if you have a question that's likely to have been asked before, you'll save yourself a lot time by searching the forums instead of waiting around for someone to help you).
