Windows 8 touch screen

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi all,

I recently tested one of my educational games on a DELL XPS 12 system with Windows 8 pro and a touch screen. The game ran perfectly except for a major problem with the click on objects. It would not register the first touch, but when you would touch again, this time on an different object, it would then register the click on the previous object! This is a big problem for my virtual musical instrument programs where the user would play on a virtual keyboard for example. I don't know if you can understand this problem just by reading it so I've included a link to my site with a virtual instrument.

Here is a link to a program called Meta-xylo+. It's a virtual Orff instrument and the user can play it either by using the number keys at the top of his keyboard or by clicking (or touching on a tablet) the keys on the screen. It's in french, but it's pretty self explanatory.

Here's the link : Please login to see this link.

Another think I'd like to mention is that is I run the actual windows (exe) app, it works fine with the touch screen and there are no 1-touch delays. It only happens with the Flash version.

Thanks for any help, and if you like the Orff instrument, you can share it freely:)

    Tom

  • I have had some similar type of touch issues with flash on Blackberry Playbook. Have you tried replacing your "user clicks on an object" conditions with "mouse is over an object" conditions and see if that makes any difference to touch detection?

  • Haven't tried yet. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that today and let you know the results.
