In-app purchases?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Im currently designing an app with in-app purchase features, I already have iOS exporter and was thinking of purchasing the android exporter too but Im curious about how this in-app purchase feature works on android.
I recently bought an android tablet and noticed there are various stores that provide users with apps. If I wanted my app to feature in-app payments what would I use?
I heard about the Amazon app store having an in-app purchase API, also google play has something called google wallet.

Is there an object included with MMF2 that handles in-app purchases for android, via Amazon or google play?

    Thanks

  • Not yet, unfortunately. From the sounds of things, though, it will be in the first update.

  • Yes no in-app purchasing with Android yet, but it is a priority object.

Google Play would be my bet for the first one you would see unless someone sneaks in using the SDK and creates something else first.

I just sent 2 games to be published on Google Play and its night and day compared to publishing thru Apple.
We are going to see an explosion of MMF created games on Android when things get rolling!

  • Yes, will be looking forward to IAP on Android. The ability to give a limited game away for free with an in app purchase to unlock the full game is very appealing, especially as a tool to combat the piracy issue on Android.

  • Yes it will be very welcomed. Alternatively, in the meantime I am working on a server/client game network with a series of games interlinked and we're currently testing the ability to use PayPal with Mobile Checkout which thus far seems to be looking promising. It's a huge project and I mean huge but well worth the time and effort. I'll probably blog post about it post-release after it's been live for a few months and we collect some usage data and statistics.

  • It doesnt take nearly as long to get an app up on google play from what Ive heard. No jumping through hoops, either.
I can't wait for those objects, this is all great news.

  • One of the best things is that publishing is practically instant :) no waiting for your game to be reviewed!

Do you think we'll see google play IAPs in update #1?

  • Yes, IAP's work very well on Android. They were tested to the full and FVivolo did a great job on it.

  • It works fine for me and I had no idea how to use the in-app feature. I used one of the example that comes with the program.

You just need to add in-app products in the developers console.

some patience and a credit card to test it.

you have to use another email address to test your in-app, if you try to buy it with the same account
and error comes up and it says:

Developer cannot purchase this ... or something like that.

  • Where can I get the beta android IAP object? I'm not sure if I'm just being daft here...

You need to register a product on the forums (the Android runtime, to be exact), and then go to the owner's lounge to download the latest beta for the Android runtime.

By the way, welcome to the forums!
