Where to get started?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hello!

I know this is probably a very abrupt post from a new member, but I am really curious about using MMF2 (in this coming week, I have TGF2 at the moment) to develop games, and I'm wondering what would be the best place to get started. Again, apologies for the sudden new topic, and I'm just wondering what would be the best place to start looking on where to start off.

And maybe for the meantime, how I can develop with TGF2's shortened feature list for the time being.

    Thank you!

  • Well, I think the best place to get started would be Please login to see this link.. That page has some tutorials to help you get started. I would start with the "Catch the Fruit" tutorial. I advise skipping the ones made by Francois, not because they are bad (Francois actually is one of the main people behind MMF2, after all), but... well... they were translated from French, and they seem to have lost a lot in the translation process, making them basically impossible for a beginner who doesn't already know what it is talking about to follow. Also, most (but not all) of the beginner's tutorials should be complete-able in TGF2, so, as long as you stick to those, you should be fine.

My Please login to see this link. (which I actually use), my Please login to see this link. (which I mostly don't use), and my Please login to see this link. (which I don't use anymore pretty much at all really). If there are awards for "'highest number of long forum posts", then I'd have probably won at least 1 by now. XD

  • Look for tutorials that do not need extensions. There are some Clickteam ones here:

I have over 360 open source examples here:

There are others of course, but this should get you started.

  • Thanks for the replies on such short notice!

Now question, will I still be able to get a discount for MMF2 if I use my TGF2 product key? I do remember getting two emails months and months ago with the coupon code, but they have both expired. Is there any way I can get the discount again? (For real this time.)

(And will this discount also go toward exporters such as the Flash exporter?)

The discount is the price difference between TGF2 and MMF2. The discount isn't for anything else. However, I have noticed that the various exporters go on sale sometimes, so, if you want a discount on an exporter, you might be able to get one if you don't mind waiting (they might have a Christmas sale, for example). However, since I don't work for Clickteam, I can't guarantee you that any exporters will be going on sale anytime soon (with "anytime soon" being within the next few months). By the way, welcome to the forums!
