Not exactly an article but very helpfull example for 3D like Dungeon Master

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • This is an example of a 3D engine with editor.

In fact this is the editor only. I found it in my old projects which i finally found after about 10 years...

    Made with TGF originally...

I hope it will help some people.

It is not finished and i am sorry about that.

    Also some instructions.

    1. I dont know if load and save works...
    2. First you need to make a map
    3. To make a map Use the keys "L, ; , ' , P" to move the green arrow on the map and press space(you can even hold it) where you want a wall to be placed
    4. The player is the little dot. YOu can see where he is facing too
    5. If you press "I" then the walls you made become invisible in the map and the player has to discover them to see them in the map
    6. To show all the walls press "V"

Feel free to edit the engine. I release it open source. Just give me some credits... :P

  • Thanks for sharing the file AftPeakTank. You seem to me to be a talented programer. I think you should go ahead and dust off the code and continue the project.

    Marv

Thank you so much nivram for your kind words. Hmmm, i will think about it...In fact i want to finish a game i am making at the moment and i am considering dusting this and continue.

Another interesting thing is that it is made with basic objects and this means it will be very easy to port in android etc.

Did you manage to use it?

  • It crashed for me...

    Looks good, though.

My Please login to see this link. (which I actually use), my Please login to see this link. (which I mostly don't use), and my Please login to see this link. (which I don't use anymore pretty much at all really). If there are awards for "'highest number of long forum posts", then I'd have probably won at least 1 by now. XD

  • Here is a shortcut to an executable for people who just want to test it quick.

Oh, and the Save and load works, but like this:

    There are 9 save/load slots

    To save
    1. Press F1
    2. Press a number from 1 to 9
    3. The process bar will show up up right and a file with an extension .sv will be created in the folder of the executable

    To load
    1. Press F3
    2. Press a number from 1 to 9

It seems that the help text doesn't change to give you the instructions when you press F1, so nothing seems to work.
However if you follow the steps above you will see that it actually does work!

  • It crashed? Really strange... At once or you did something?

It crashed on launch. More accurately, it froze so badly that task manager wasn't able to close it, making me have to reboot my computer. It isn't a very high-spec computer, though, which might explain things. This actually didn't happen the day I posted about it, it happened a few days ago, when I first tried it. I don't want to have to risk having a frozen program on here like that, so that I won't have to reboot my computer, so I'm not sure if I'll try it again, at least on this computer.

  • Well since i have no idea why it crashed, and as far as i know there is no special plug in or option that could cause instability, then it is too bad :(

    I would like your opinion...

Really strange. Do you own MMF2 or TGF2?
