Global Values checklist?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I was wondering, what is the simplest way to view all the global values that are utilised in the events editor. Going to global events doesn't seem to offer a clear solution, since global events, even if they have to do with altering global values are only in the level's events editor of the frames you choose to put them in. As you can imagine, keeping tabs of dozens of global values and what significance they hold can get tricky quickly!

    Cheers :P

  • For your next project? Or for sorting out the ones you've already used? The former would be comments, notes, and remembering to always name your global values and then rename them when you're no longer using them. The latter, unfortunately, requires you to filter your events using the Special icon and then check everything manually.

Another way to do this (in the future) is to use a placeholder object for filtering events in complicated projects. I've been doing this in my game and it's made my life so much easier. That is, use a dedicated object that has no runtime function but allows you to sort the events by whatever class it is ("Global Events," "Animations," "Loops," etc.) so that you can immediately find the events you're looking for.
