test this is your device, start to play a song or play a video in full volume and connect your earphones .
1.- does your device down the volume immediately?
2.- Does it show you a toast message indicating that the volume was to high and is a risk for your audition?
the volume control not matter the application is controlled by the OS when you put your earphone, receive a call or playing a game.
Wait, it seems you think there is a problem with my earphones! No, there is no problem. They are Iphone compliant. This doesn't mean necessarily that they will work with Android.
However, the HTC One S has this ability. And from now on i think a lot of mobiles. In example Galaxy S1 was not compatible. For the moment i don't know for other mobiles.
So regarding Galaxy S I that was not compatible, there is an adaptor that make them work. The problem is the OS doesn't recognise the button push for some of them. There are android apps to make them work.
However i would like to know if it is possible to make one with the current API.
