Build 257.27 (Beta)

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

Bug fixes and new features in 257.27

    - New "Build API" option in the Android properties of the application to allow you to select the Android API you want to use to build your application with (PS: the API you indicate must be installed in the Android SDK). Note 1: even if you choose a recent API your application will continue working on devices with an older API (>= 2.3). Note 2: we've noticed a possible significant speed increase if you build with newer APIs, we would appreciate if you could build your applications with different APIs, test them on different devices and report your results, thanks!

    - New Android Dialog object, allows you to display various types of Android controls
    - (Dev only) New AdMob object, allowing to change size, color, alignment and others in Admob
    - New features in the Android object to show/hide the action bar and retrieve information about the device
    - New features in the Android object to show/hide the keyboard and detect if it's visible
    - Various crashes have been fixed (waiting for an exact change log)
    - Accelerometer object: it should now return values in G identical to the iOS version (it was previously returning values in m/s and these values were different on several devices)

    - Added security in INI object to avoid it to crash in some error cases
    - Fix in radio button objects

    I probably forget things...

Also I think OUYA InApp Purchase features have been implemented but the actions are not visible in this version, I think I haven't been sent the new OUYA object. I'll upload it later.

    - For Each object fixes (Fernando)
    - String Parser MD5 function did not work correctly (Fernando)
    - Fix disappearing image counter objects (Fernando)

Bug fixes and new features in 257.14

    - Black screen issue: if the "Force GPU rendering" option was checked in the Android Developer options Android was displaying a black screen for applications created with MMF2. Note: the "Force GPU rendering" option might cause reduced performance (not sure though), you should test your applications with and without this option and if any speed issue you should probably tell your users to turn it off.
    - List and ComboBox objects were incorrectly initialized in the Unicode version.

  • Ohh! Finally, OUYA crashes fixed! yuju! It's time to export and upload the game! :D

Edit: Ohh common! This have to be a joke, now the "press/released" buttons not works on OUYA? XDDD

SOmebody with the same problem or it's me? I just donloaded/installed the last version 257.27 and exported and the OUYA not recognize any button.

I erased the OUYA object and create again all the events with the buttons testing pressed and released and not works! ¿What happens?

I checked the "OUYA Application" in the OUYA Options, select the icons and select the Game Category. IS there something new we need to do to get working or is simply a bug that need to be solved again?

  • Excellent, been waiting for this update!

I do have a question though - why has the Video Android object been limited to five videos? I'm aware that adding videos would greatly increase the APK size, but, if, for instance, I were to create a one-off APK file to run on my tablet, would it be an idea to increase the limit?

  • Great! oh yes I noticed that the middle button it doesn't end the application.

But it looks like we are getting somewhere :D

  • Hi

Its seems both the Edit Object and Button Object don't "Follow the Frame" now. As I have a number of these in my app I will have to re-install the previous version until this is fixed.

    Thanks

    Hi PunchyBog,

Can you provide us with an example?

it works for me here, are you using negative scrolling?

  • Hi FVivolo

It works fine when you build the app on the PC but when I export it to my Android phone I have the above problem. I also installed build 257.24 and had the same problem but 257.20 was okay and runs fine. I have attached a simple example with both objects that has the same problem as my app when exporting to the phone with build 257.27 and 257.24 but is okay with 257.20.

    Thanks

  • Would it also be possible to look at why the edit object does not stay in position behind the keyboard and then the screen is not redrawn back to normal when the screen is hidden when you have "display keyboard over application window" selected. It also moves the other objects around it so its difficult to organise the device screen to look the same as that shown on the PC. I know I can work around this but it would be good if we could fix this too.

    Thanks

Edited once, last by PunchyBog: Added extra info (August 29, 2013 at 11:35 AM).

  • Can you post an image of what is occurring in your device, model and android version you are using?

if display over the window is chosen, the editbox in focus will be move to make the user see the content during edition, so if several editbox or object are present they are panned to make the object in focus be above the center and of course keeping the distance and location (depending this last to the size of the device)

if you not choose "display over the window", all frame will be resize but in controls no fonts change will occurs, since the font is set by device theme.

  • Hi

I'm testing on a Huawei Ascend G300 with android version 4.0.3. Here are 2 images (they are from the test app I posted from my thread on how to attach a file using the email object). Photo_a shows the screen on the device before selecting the keyboard and photo_b shows the screen after selecting the keyboard.

  • Hi , i see your problem here

first you have the buttons to close to each other, please provide more space between the second editbox and the buttons and a bigger size for the buttons too.

second you are using a small size 320x480 and the dpi of your device is 233, maybe is good to change the frame size to something bigger. 480 x 800 is a good size for almost all devices.

these are the characteristic of your device

    Screen

    * Touchscreen: yes - Capacitive
    * Number of colors: 16.7 Million colors
    * Number of Pixels: 480x800 pixels
    * Size: 4.0 inches (10.2 cm)
    * Resolution (pixels per inch): 233 dpi
    * Type: LCD
    * Type of Video Card: Adreno 200

please try and let us know

    Regards,

  • Is there a way to have more than five videos inserted into an APK file in regards to the Video Android object? Perhaps around 10-12? For instance, creating single-use presentations?

I asked this a while ago, seems my question was overlooked/forgotten ;)
