  • Hi All,

I'm in the process of polishing off my next game and wanted some help in giving it a good name. It's a fairly generic space shoot 'em up with some puzzle elements as you have to escape from each level and ultimately an unknown planetary base. Along the way you'll discover some secrets and have to collect parts to a data chip that you have to deliver back to your base ship.

The original working title is All Guns Blazing but I think this sounds pretty generic (?) and wouldn't interest players enough.

Some early ideas I've come up with:-

    Escape from or Conflict on...
    Epsilon Boötis
    Altyr 5
    Kethor
    Alauda
    Jiesean

    Project Zeibard
The Domain (which is the name of the evil empire type people you're trying to escape from)

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Steve

  • Out of those suggestions, All Guns Blazing is still the best one. Escape from X, Conflict X and Project X, sounds more generic still, and most of your options there I don't immediately know how to pronounce. All Guns Blazing, however, immediately sounds action-packed, and for what you describe as a "fairly generic space shoot 'em up" that might be how you want to entice your players.

  • I like " All Guns Blazing". It's catchy and memorable and while it might seem generic it isn't - at least from a marketing perspective. You want your audience to connect with your game, so the easier and catchier the name the better.

Anyway. I think a good generic title is better than a bad original one! If no one is using it then it seems like a good choice.
