Best way to have multiple instances with platform type movement.

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • What would be the most efficient way of having multiple instances of an object all with their own individual platform movement all while maintaining a good fps (i don't mean the PMO object)?

I need to possibly have at least 30 instances on screen at once (again if even possible) not including enemies.

Lastly i would also like to include a slopes where if to steep you will the objects will begin to slide down.

    thx in advance.

If you are using the built-in platform movement, forget about including slopes that you slide down if they are too steep, it will never happen without some crazy hacky work-arounds that are buggier than the built-in platform movement in MMF2 itself (and that's saying something). The easiest way to handle that would probably be Please login to see this link..

My Please login to see this link. (which I actually use), my Please login to see this link. (which I mostly don't use), and my Please login to see this link. (which I don't use anymore pretty much at all really). If there are awards for "'highest number of long forum posts", then I'd have probably won at least 1 by now. XD

I have tried this widget before. but how should i go about having multiple of the platform widget object. should i run the fast loops based on fixed values or id's or should i somehow incorporate the foreach extension (which i still encounter bugs with when exporting to android).

also from my experiences with it for some reason when porting that widget over and i had the camera scrolling it caused by game to freeze unless i filled the entire frame with a backdrop.

  • You can use different copies of it for different objects (E.G. a player object, an enemy object, etc.), and then use a ForEach loop (or the old and slow fastloop method if you really want to) to loop through the objects for moving them.

  • well that's weird i seemed to have gotten foreach loop to work somehow. maybe something went wrong the last time i tried to transfer the widget to my project.

do you how much of a strain will this widget put on androids and how many duplicates would it be able to handle (i haven't tested it yet i just now it works on the PC end).

I haven't tested it on Android at all, so I don't know. However, it should work okay on Android. Just don't expect it to be handle a hoard of enemies (500+).

  • whoa lol i don't plan on reaching that number at all XD. thx for the help though.

my last question would be would it be better to have a small resolution with tiny sprites or a large resolution with larger/medium sized sprites? i plan on upgrading to 2.5 an using the zoom feature to (zoom out mostly). personally i think smaller sprites are better but it might not look so well when zoomed in.
