Questions about Steam

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hey guys, my game just got greenlit on Steam:
Please login to see this link.

I have read snippets about a private Steamworks object, but I can't seem to find much information. Does anyone know anything about this elusive object, or could maybe point me in the right direction? You can PM me as well, if it's secret info :).
    Thanks!

  • Whats the question Fano?

Is there a new extension in the works for Steam and Fusion 2.5? Yes.
We hired a developer and he is working on it right now.

Will we release it for 2.0? I don't think so, maybe.
Is there a demand for it?

Please login to see this link.

  • I'm definitely demanding a steam extension!

I've been asking for it ever since steamworks went public... Not sure why the old extension is being kept private right now...

What is the ETA for the 2.5 extension? Will this be free? Will this be publicly available or still require privately requesting it after being greenlit?

I totally would love to get my game on Steam once it's ready for release, and I would love it even more if I could know what I'm getting myself in for with steam integration ahead of time. It would be silly not to release the extension for everyone to use now that steamworks is publicly available. It would be a HUGE selling point for Clickteam since I'm sure a lot of indie game developers want to get their games on Steam.

  • Hey Jeff! I'm not sure if there's a large demand, but I definitely think that people will complain if my greenlit game will be missing the steam achievements :P. And I'm sure there will be more greenlit games made with MMF2 in the future. I've been debating hiring a programmer to make this extension for me, but I'd much rather just use/license one that's already made.

Will Fusion 2.5 be able to open MMF2 projects? Maybe I will be able to open my project in 2.5 and add the extension there, then just save it again as a 2.5 project.

Fano, is the old extension stable enough to handle simple achievements at least :)? That's all that I want to incorporate from Steamworks, just basic achievements.
Thanks a lot guys! I'm hoping there is a way to add achievements!

  • MMF2.5 will be able to open MMF2 projects.

My Please login to see this link. (which I actually use), my Please login to see this link. (which I mostly don't use), and my Please login to see this link. (which I don't use anymore pretty much at all really). If there are awards for "'highest number of long forum posts", then I'd have probably won at least 1 by now. XD

  • CF2.5 should also be able to load MMF2 extensions, but I don't know what new features the CF2.5 extension SDK has in store that would make MMF2 unable to load CF2.5 extensions.

Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

  • Jeff.

I meant that there is an extension for MMF2 but it's old, outdated and unstable (as far as I know from few Steam Developers). And that you are working for one for F2.5 which IMHO should be for F2.5 and F3.

    End is near.

  • Jeff, I have the source for the old extension...

The old extension is kept private because when built it contains the Steamworks SDK which is protected under NDA, or at least was at the time of development.

  • The Steamworks SDK is more open now, but there is an access agreement:

I'm not majoring in law, so I can't explain what we can and can't do with the Steamworks SDK now.

  • Any ETA on when the Steam extension will be ready for 2.5? Just even a rough ballpark figure would be great. 3 months after 2.5 release? 6 months? A year?

  • If I had access to 2.5 I would gladly test the steam extension... Unfortunately I wasn't part of the testing team, as I had little interest in testing out the physics stuff.

  • CF2.5 Steam Workshopper Tool is made with Fusion and it supports Workshop.
I think it's already released but exclusive only for Steam game developers?
