Adding an action bar?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Since rebuilding my APKs from MMF2 to CF2.5 for some strange reason I'm seeing an 'action bar' displaying my app's name. Since changing the target build to 4.1, I'm now seeing the action bar as seen in apps like Gmail, YouTube etc.

    This is brilliant. Now idea how this has happened, it's taken away tapping the Menu soft button to actually having to click on the 'menu' button on the action bar, which is a better UI for devices without soft buttons. I'd like to utilise this with my application.

    Is there any way to change the title, add multiple action items, change the icons, add a 'back' button, make a UI using tabs? I'm not sure if this is all currently associated under a different name or doesn't exist in Fusion yet.

    This is what I'm looking for:

  • Yes in fusion 2.5 the heading flag is operational and will allow you to show the action bar or title, this is the first step to gain control over the status bar, action bar and navigation bar. now you have menu for version above honeycomb. using the action bar as requested by android.

    title = application name

    action menu = actually the only possible way is to add a menu and inside all action,

    tabs = needs to be reviewed the possibility to change the way the menu is shown and configured.

  • I will take it that this is partially implemented, with more options in development. I'll wait until the next Fusion 2.5 build regarding more control over the action bar.

    I'm really, really looking forward to the possibilities of apps with better Android integration with the action bar, Please login to see this link., rather than having to build a non-adaptive bar in-app. :)

    Out of interest, has there been any further review on having tabs in Android applications?
