Any way to make Andriod games without the exporter(can't afford it)?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I managed to get ahold of MMF2 in the Humble Bundle and have been working with it a little bit here and there, and am enjoying it quite well. I was however wondering if there was a way to make android games with the software without the exporter because I am young, and sadly can't not afford the product, which is also why I was wondering about android and now iOS because apparently iOS is a hassle, plus has a hefty development fee.

  • For both Android and iOS, not really. However, I'm pretty sure Clickteam Fusion 2.5's HTML5 runtime work on iOS and Android, and the free demo of Clickteam Fusion 2.5 will only export to HTML5 once it is out, though it technically won't let you make the game for Android itself, just something that Android is able to run in general without being an app. The same can be said for iOS, you'll be able to make something that iOS can run without making it an app.

Just so you know, even outside of MMF2, it is impossible to make iOS apps without spending a big chunk of money. That isn't something Clickteam made, it is something Apple did. The amount it costs is $99 a year, if I remember correctly. I think the Android exporter for MMF2 costs around $99 (I think it might have been less than that) anyway, so, instead of getting an Apple developer account for a year, you could get the Android exporter for the same price, and you wouldn't have to pay a yearly fee or anything to make your app. You don't even need to pay a yearly fee to release a game on Android, though you do need to pay a one-time fee of $25 to release it on Google Play (to help cut down on awful apps (it lets you release as many apps as you want after paying the $25, though)).

Too long, didn't read: Technically no, though the demo of Clickteam Fusion 2.5's HTML5 exporter might let you get close (though said demo isn't released yet).

EDIT: By the way, welcome to the forums!

(which I don't use anymore pretty much at all really). If there are awards for "'highest number of long forum posts", then I'd have probably won at least 1 by now. XD

  • I understand,
I think you might have misread my post or I didn't word it very well though haha!
I disdain iOS and don't want anything to do with it!
I wanted Android because its an easier market and cheaper (I didn't know about the 25 dollar charge :( )
I can't afford the exporter haha nor the 2.5 version yet! Maybe I make a few games and manage to profit off them enough to afford the tools need!!!! MAYBE Muhahaha.

  • The $25 charge is only for Google Play. You can technically distribute it on your own website, or through some other system. Obviously, the price varies from store to store, but putting it on your own website would only be the cost of the website, which could potentially be free if you make it using some sort of free website builder/host.

EDIT: Also, I was talking about the upcoming free demo version of Clickteam Fusion 2.5 when I was talking about Clickteam Fusion 2.5. If you don't mind waiting, then you could use that once it is out.
