Feature request: Including Spriter2D editor/animations into MMF 2.5 (3?)

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi,

Has any one else tried using Spriter2D (Please login to see this link.) for bones-based / inverse kinematics 2D animations with reskinnable characters?

Right now the only way to get these animations into Fusion is to export from Spriter as a .png or then reimport into the editor. Quite a few other game engines are building plugins to directly support the native spriter format (or something a lot like it). The advantage there is that you can save enormous amounts of memory and have super-smooth animations.

Having access to the Spriter format (or better yet, an inbuilt editor for the format) in some future version of MMF2.5+ would be superb.

  • Hi DaveC,

I think I may make a specific thread for this. I have said in several threads that I am working on this extension. I agree completely with you for memory and animation that is why I want to make this animation and share it with
the community. If this extension is successful, I may use this experience and knowledge to support also Spine 2D.

  • Great! PM me if you ever need a tester. PS * Although I somehow missed your past threads, I did find this note from Brash Monkey the creator of Spriter [sic],

"We're already in discussion with Clickeam themselves and are all keen to make it happen. Hopefully we'll work it out and find a capible plug-in developer interrested in the task soon. Side-note: I''ve been using Clickteam products for well over a decade and am personally interrested in making this happen as well as professionally. cheers, Mike at BrashMonkey "
