Build Failed ---- Things to check

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Build Failed ---- Things to check

Inside Fusion on the preferences screen:

    Path to your Java JDK
For example mine is -- C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_43

    Path to your Android SDK
For example mine is -- C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk

Now the next area to look at is in your actual application properties/Android tab.
what build SDK are you trying to use?

Please login to see this attachment.

Above it says build API 14

You will need to open the Android SDK manager and make sure you have that API installed.

On my computer that is here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\SDK Manager.exe
You might also find a link to it in your Start Menu Programs Folder -- Inside the Android SDK Tools Group

My advice is to change this to the newest API and download that in the Android SDK manager.

Then also change it here in Fusion to the same API number. I can't think of a reason why you need to use an older API but maybe there is, but you have to install an API to build anything. Newer APIs would support more features and perhaps have some performance gains.

** Don't forget to change the Android Package name inside your application properties under the Android tab to something unique. (Change from com.mycompany.myapplication) to (com.mycompany.gamenamehere) (GameNameHere=The name of your game). Do not include any spaces and no special characters. Just plain letters and numbers.

  • it kept giving me "invalid name or syntax" over and over again.

then i noticed that my API was set to 14 as you wrote and checked SDK Manager and in SDK manager only API 19 was installed.
I switched API from 14 to 19 and it worked. (Also installed API 14 but did not try with that , probably it'll work)

    thanks

  • I think you have a very old Android build and need to update that so you can access the API information.

Fernando release a new beta version of the very lastest you could try out here:

  • I'm still doing something wrong. I can't even output a blank project now as an APK, the error is always the same. MMF2 still works perfectly and I can output everything,o I don't understand why Fusion 2 wouldn't be able to export anything. I have all of the latest versions, I just installed it all yesterday. 281.2 for Fusion. 281.1 for Android exporter.

    Buildfile: C:\Users\Scott\AppData\Local\Temp\AndE64E.tmp\build.xml

    BUILD FAILED
    C:\Users\Scott\AppData\Local\Temp\AndE64E.tmp\build.xml:83: Cannot find C:\Users\Scott\Desktop\tools\ant\build.xml imported from C:\Users\Scott\AppData\Local\Temp\AndE64E.tmp\build.xml

    Total time: 0 seconds

  • you have installed java sdk and andoid sdk, right? (yes because you build in mmf2)

did you set the directory appropriately inside preferences, general, android both directories (java sdk and android sdk)

... new things are coming ...

  • On my version of Multimedia fusion 2 it doesn't show the "build api" in the android properties tab underneath package name, or anywhere. does anyone know why this might be?
It shows the minimum android version and the target android version. under the target android version is the tick box "require gpu"

    edit
    ---------------------------------
I installed FVivolos unofficial android exporter and it still doesn't display the api build. ??

  • I clicked "check for update" in mmf2, went through the update process. It said it had successfully updated, however it still doesn't display the api build. It also claims to be version 2.0 still. Am I supposed to update it differently?
you did mean to update MMF 2 and not the exporter right?
Also when I try to build a project that contains the chartboost extension I get the following error:

Warning: The following extentions are not compatible with the build type of the application

    ChartBoost.mfx

How can I get this working?

  • No i'm talking about this file : Please login to see this link.
    that comes with the extension.

By the way, how do I install the Android exporter for fusion developer?
I have the Android_MMF2_(En).exe installer but running it on fusion developer gives me an error message : MMF2 Android Exporter has not been totally installed because of the following reason: Unknown error. Please try again later or contact Clickteam.
You will have to run this utility again to completely install MMf2 android Exporter.

also is there an easy way to transfer extension modules from MMf2 to developer?

    thanks

  • Sorry that Chartboost is made by third party and is only for iOS

    "Before Using

Please note that this extension looks for the ChartBoost SDK in your XCode project. Due to the way MMF2 works, your future projects will look for the ChartBoost SDK even if you don't use ChartBoost in the app, and XCode will complain about the missing files. You can remedy this by adding the ChartBoost SDK or by selecting the build type as "iOS Final XCode Project" instead of the standard, as this will only include the files for the extensions you are using."

regarding android installation, please send an email with your info to clickteam contact so they can verify the number and if everything is Ok with your file.
