Possible to do masking like this?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I am trying to do some masking of an object like in this video (Sorry for bad quality, I could not find a better video on youtube). Please login to see this link.
You can see that when he swaps back and forth in the menu the items "cutoff" at the edges before the screen ends. I want this, but the only way I can think of is to have an active above the layer, but that only works if the background image is static. So I want real masking, but the problem is that the only shader I found for this is not compatible in all platforms. Is there a way to do this that is cross platform compatible and allows for moving background?

  • Nope. The Surface object can do masking but it's very resource heavy and only works with PC/Flash builds.

There's really no way to do proper masking in Fusion which is really disappointing, because out of all the features they added, I would have thought that would be an obvious choice.

almost 10 years later and is there another solution that may be out there?

If not I get it, but I made my game/app GUI thinking I could do something similar...lol
