Click on object to pause or resume application?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Is there any way to create an event where a specific object can be clicked on to either pause or resume an application?
So far, I'm able to make it so clicking on an object pauses the application, but I'm stumped on making this resume the program.

EDIT: From what I understand, I could just individually set each object's animation or movement to stop this way. However, is there another way of achieving the above?

  • No, the pause application feature can only be unpaused with the keyboard (I have submitted a feature request to unpause with joystick, you might like to submit feature request to unpause with click on object). You could use the menu pause, in which case a pause dialogue appears, which you can click on to resume. Alternatively, you can use a sub application and pause/resume that however you want (the "container" frame should contain pause/unpause events).

Deactivating groups and manually pausing animation and movement is a pain (especially with built in movements, as they are buggy when unpaused). So I would advise against the manual method. Other people may like it, but that's just my opinion.

    Clarification

    * Pause application = storyboard controls -> pause application
    * Menu pause = special conditions -> application menu -> send menu command

  • Piqutchi, here is an example I just posted a few days ago in the examples section that does what you want. It uses a single button, flags and groups.
