Best format/settings for playing music/sound in HTML5?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I have submitted a Fusion generated HTML5 game to FGL's mobile platform. It bounced from QA due to issues with music/sounds on Kindle Fire:

-The audio is stuttering out of control on the Kindle Fire HD, it's as if the game is running at 1-2fps, yet it runs smooth during gameplay.

The audio stutters, they will occasionally break as well.

On web browser the music plays fine, but apparently there are issues on some devices.

--> I was wondering is there any guidance on playing music/sounds files on HTML5 that I should be aware of? Such as specific settings in Fusion, preferable source file formats, etc?
I'm not sure what should I try to change in order to pass the QA..

    Any ideas, suggestions?

  • I'm not having any problems with playing sounds, and a game of mine just passed their QA. It was tested under Kindle Fire HD (and their Web Browser Tool).

I'm only playing short sound effects thou, no musics. The sound options that I'm using are "Multi-samples" and "Play sounds over frames" which are both checked. In the Data Elements all the sounds are set to "Preload" but I don't know if this has any effect with the HTML5 runtime.

All my sounds are originally WAV files PCM 44,100 kHz; 16 bits; Mono. Then as you know Fusion converts them upon compilation. Since I'm using WinXP and the LAME MP3 encoder, the final sound files produced by Fusion are OGG and MP3.

I don't know if the above information will help you. What version of Fusion are you using? I'm using Build 282.3.
