Ultimate Fullscreen + Steam overlay problem

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Short: I'd like to keep native resolution which is 1280x720, I have options that allows to do this, scale and to go real fullscreen.

However when using native resolution (game resolution of 1280x720 and monitor 1920x1080 it adds BLACK BORDERS), and steam overlay (alt+tab where you see friend list, browser etc.) it seems as Ultimate Fullscreen "forces" these things inside the game area so they won't open using your monitor resolution.

So, it adds big black borders around the game to keep the native resolution, but the thing is Steam Overlay won't open _on_ those borders. This would be fine, everything looks cool, BUT, all the links (friends, browser etc.) are ON those borders. So basically I need to click somewhere the borders to activate the links. Hard to describe, argh!

Also using scaled option the links are pretty close but still not in right places.

Basically like this: Please login to see this attachment.

This is bad and I need this sorted ASAP! Any tips, advice?

To cut it short, again: Ultimate Fullscreen forces all the _visual_ elements of Steam overlay inside the play area, when all the links stays depending on your Screen resolution.

  • Okay, it might not be UFS after all. It seems if you don't use "resize to fill window size" it will limit the overlay. You are using UFS or not. Ouch.

  • Simon, it's not UFS. I posted above that it's also does it if you just maximize on bootup, and unthick resize to fill window size.

  • Hi, I am also encountering this issue. Going full screen with UFS extension and then enabling Steam Overlay results in the clickable areas of the overlay being not in the correct places (as shown in Jesse's first image).

I am running at 16:10 resolution however, and it might be that the overlay is expecting the game to be at 16:9?

  • I'm not sure there is a fix for this. I know it is annoying, but no one, absolutely no one has complained me about this!
So it's not a huge problem, though not ideal neither.

It works in a real fullscreen I believe, but that might not help you. Anyways, let us know if you figure a way around!

  • The Steam overlay simply injects into the process, drawing with the Direct3D context that Fusion uses.
For the borders, Fusion positions/resizes the display surface so it appears the window has borders (but the display surface doesn't contain them).
There is no workaround to this unless Fusion is changed. I think Fusion has done this since forever, so I think Yves may be hesitant to change it.
