Creating a virtual keyboard for other applications

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hello, Sorry for my English, I'm Italian.:)

I would create a virtual keyboard that allows to insert text or execute key commands in other applications. I see that Control x allows to simulate key pressing. But the problem is: if I create a button in my cf appication that simulates a key press command when I click on it, the focus remain in my application.. So the command can't transfers on the others applications, like a real keyboard. Can anyone help me about? I want write a little program like a small toolbar that add some visual shortcuts in my musical application (I'm a composer). Thank you :)

  • You'd need to switch focus back... this is really, REALLY hackish, but could you simulate Alt+Tab just before simulating the given key combination to switch your focus back to the application you came from?

(Better solutions might exist, I don't know much about the actions available for focus in Windows.)

  • It is a pity that the command APPACTIVATE in Control x extension Always resize the Windows of the called application when it is maximized :(
