How to replay an animation?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • I'm trying my best to do this, and I can't find out why this is so complicated. I'm using the animation stopped, and to test around the animation, I have a few keys set up:
    A - Start Animation
    S - Stop Animation
    D - Force animation frame to 0

    I can successfully start and stop the animation, but it stops at the last frame of course. I don't want the animation looping, because I'm trying to learn how to make animations so I can make my own looping at certain times.
    I now need a key to replay the animation after pressing D, but why is it so complicated? I've tried pressing play again but it never works.. Why does it function like this? Isn't the Start Animation action always supposed to play the animation from the current frame it stopped at?

    Please help, thanks!

    EDIT:
    I was able to set the F key to restore frame, but it only works after the frame is set to 0 (pressing D) Why do you have to use restore frame? What does it do exactly?

    Now the only problem is once the animation gets to the end I can't reset it to 0, I've tried doing :
    animation Stopped is over > Force animation frame to 0

    Not setting back to 0...

  • Start undoes Stop. Restore undoes Pause. Forcing the frame automatically Pauses the animation.

    Worse, the animation Ending is not the same as the animation Stopping. Any animation that isn't the "Stopped" will go back to "Stopped" and the "Stopped" animation will just end. You need to leave the animation and come back to Start again.

    So, don't let it end. The best options are to either Stop the animation when you hit the last frame or clone the last frame and loop it back to the second to last frame.

    Upon pressing "A":
    -> Start Animation

    Upon pressing "S":
    -> Stop Animation

    If Frame number of animation = 3:
    -> Stop Animation

    Upon pressing "D":
    -> Start Animation
    -> Change Animation to Frame 0
    -> Restore Animation

    Note that you need to Start the animation to undo the Stop you forced, then Restore the animation to undo the Pause from forcing the animation frame.

    Then you need to deal with the problem of the animation not playing the first frame for the entire length of the speed. Check this for further info: Please login to see this link.

  • I also found out I can just make another animation, for example, I had a gun animation, and just create a new animation called "Shooting" and Animation > Change Animation Sequence > Shooting, then once shooting is done, it goes back to stopped. I guess I shouldn't mess around with the Stopped animation because it does have a purpose.
