Im testing out a game that i've almost completed. It runs fine on the engine but when I run it on an iphone/tablet it lags pretty bad. The moving background also disappears for some strange reason.
lag on an ios device
Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.
A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.
Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

are you testing on a device or on the emulators?
-
Tried testing it on both, even all the emulators and all of the ios devices that i have.

follow this guide - Please login to see this link.
iOS devices have limited memory.. making games for PC is easy and you can get away with a lot of bad practices, but not so on mobile phones, not yet anyway.
-
Thankyou, ill try it out
-
Followed what the guide said, but it still lags plus the moving background is not showing up during gameplay
-
If you post your .mfa someone might be able to help further.. hard to say what is causing the lag. What resolution is your game? Do you use fastloops etc.? alpha channels?
-
The Frame size is and resolution are both at 768x1024, most of the images are at transparent color, and the game runs at 389 Mb
-
Now its 380x420, runs at 75 Mb
-
Did your new smaller version remove the lag?
-
Yes. if you reduce your frame size and upscale it, it runs smooth and removes the lag.

I hade huge problem with lag. My solution was to merge textures ( objects ). If you for example have lots of texture that repeates. Instead of duplicating them alot, just make new obejct that already contain all those objects. That made my game run smoothly on an iphone 4s, and before it was unplayable on iphone 5s.

Good job man, cant wait to see what your working on
-
good stuff guys, nice to know there r workarounds ^__^
