Not running at correct FPS

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi! I seem to have a problem. When i go to the properties of my game and input the frame rate as 35 FPS and then i load the game, It only runs at 13FPS sometimes as low as 1. My display mode is standard and i'm using MMF2. Thanks for reading and i hope you can help!

  • You probably need to optimize your game.

    When you set a frame rate you are just capping the max frames per second. So the game will run anywhere between 0-35 frames per second depending on your computer's speed and how well you've optimized the game.

    Without seeing the source it's hard to say what specifically you need to do. Here's a good article on optimizing Fusion games: Please login to see this link.

    Random tip: Try change Display mode to Direct3D 9. It will use the GPU and take some load off the CPU.

  • Chrilley, would option would use CPU over GPU? Standard?
    And are you sure Direct3D 9 will take load off the CPU?
    Useful to know if that's true, although I'm pretty sure that Direct3D 9 is the default setting.

  • The way I understand it;
    Standard: CPU does everything.
    Direct3D 8/9: GPU now helps out with the graphic related tasks, giving CPU more power to do other things.

  • Yeah, DirectX will employ the GPU. Though not by much - your game will still be heavily CPU limited - at least in my experience. I only get about 5-10% use of my GPU, while the CPU continues to do the brunt of the hard work

  • Hi,
    This is a Fusion 2.5 forum and it is a more modern version of the same product and you should be able to get better performace out of it.

    I don't know if you will get this message in time but its on sale in the Humble Bundle this weekend for a price you will never see again.
    If you miss it - its over. We did a pretty long period of the screaming deal so don't delay.
