Set Counter to Character Number of String

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi everybody, this might be really simple, but it's something I'm struggling with.
Basically, I want to set a counter to the current string's character number.
I have 2 strings: 1 for temporary dialogue and 1 for dialogue. It's a typing effect, where the 2nd string takes 1 letter of the 1st string and adds it.
    Any help is appreciated.

  • Are you wanting to set the counter to the length of the string typing out or the source string? Just set counter to Len(String). If you want to cull spaces, use the string parser or a similar extension to remove spaces, then get the Len() of the output.
