Active object controls and movement bugging out.

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi guys, I'm having a random new problem, a few bugs of late but majorly it with the controls to active objects.
    1. The actives for some reason only go up and left when in 8 directions. They're set to 8 dirs.
    2. When changing a multiple movement, I occasionally get bugged out and see actives plummet off screen during path movements or just not work. I have tried re-installing/re-registering but it hasn't worked.
Anybody encountered anything like this before?

I make Odd cartoons, talk shows and hopefully in the future, some decent games ;)

  • I can recall having problems with up+left keys,
if I'm not mistaken, something like:

    - prepare an active with builtin 8 dir movement

    - upon pressing "spacebar"
    >>> launch "active1" in "active" direction

bugs out when moving up-left (player doesn't shoot)
don't know if this may be related

Multiple movements may have occasionally given the impression of bugging,
but can't recall for sure if I found a workaround, or if I found my own mistake XD

  • can you see if it works for you? Press W A S D for and mouse wheel up and down to select character through global value. For me the selected characters only move up and left alone.

  • This is the problem.
Your are ALLWAYS setting the Movement Type, which triggers this behaviour.
Bug or not, it is easily circumvented by adding the Condition 'Only one action when event loops'.

I also noted both your Object Pairs ( Shadow and Sprite ) have movements, in case this was not inteded.

I would also suggest stop using Global Events and Behaviour Events, but you dont have to follow the advice.
These are features of Fusion and your free to use them to your hearts content.
Reason im suggesting this is youll eventually have better controll and abetter overview of things if everything is in the Main Event list.

  • I too confirm the issue, and quote all what King_Cool says above ^

better switching movements only in specific situations,
always -> setting movements will bug out
(could be considered a bug, may be due to Fusion's timings with builtin movements - but anyway there should be no need to do that)

This is the issue I was mentioning btw:

can you shoot while moving up-left?
Not a big deal, and works fine with "fire 1 pressed", but anyway, it's there...

  • If you manually set the Direction and then Launch Object, it will work.
So it seems its a problem with the Movement, as opposed to being directly related to the Direction.

How can i change username and display name?
