Almost published on Cortex - Need help with one more thing...

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hi, I sent an apk to Razer.

They won't publish because of this:

"We noticed one major critical flaw. When installed on the Forge TV, the game appears on the APP row, not the Game row. All games must have the proper game INTENT set in the APK manifest. Please address this issue and resubmit."

Is there a way to do this with the current OUYA or Android TV object?

I feel like I'm getting closer with it now, though :)

    Thanks.

    Doki

  • Of course.

The game already runs just like it should on the Forge TV.

I think they're being a little unfair because Bloo Kid 2 turns up on the app row too and doesn't even have a proper icon, yet that game's available on the Cortex store.

I know because I bought it!

Really hoping to get something published on Android seeing as the OUYA console is no longer supported.

    Thanks. :)

  • I've been nagging Fernando a lot recently, I hope he doesn't get sick of me. ;)

He's guided me through control movement using both OUYA and Android TV objects, and he's been helping me set up the Fire TV object.

Hopefully the 'game row' thing is something that could be added for the Forge TV object when it comes out. :)

  • what Object you are using for controller in your game OUYA, or AndroidTV?

after read better your post, the comment from them comes from android TV object, you have a check box in properties where you set you development as game that should be check

    in properties it ask

    is a Game?

  • Hi Fernando,

I used Android TV for this build, but my games install on the apps row when I use the OUYA object, too.

My games show up on my Cortex account page really nice with the feature tile and everything.

Hopefully this intent/manifest is something that can be supported with Fusion?

    Thanks again!

  • no in android TV, you need to check if you want your application be a game

Please login to see this attachment.

but when publishing as OUYA are they asking that?, weird

Please login to see this link.

as far I check this is not mentioned.

can you forward those email to me?

  • Hi, I sent the email they gave me via private message.

I think they've updated their requirements:

"1.2 [REQUIRED] Submitted games have the appropriate intent filter set in the manifest (App or Game)
Like above, games or apps may appear outside the Cortex environment. We require that the game icon appears in the proper row. If a game appears in the app row it will fail review, likewise if an app appears in the game row."

Thanks for the advice regarding Android TV object.

I'm going to try what you said, and also submit another game with the OUYA object and see if they still reject.

    :)

    ---

Sorry, one other thing I'm noticing, on the Cortex game submission page, I keep checking "Razer Forge TV" but when I go back to edit, it goes back to "OUYA" only. I had an earlier rejection because of this too. :(Please login to see this attachment.

I'm guessing this is because I checked "OUYA Application" in the project's properties box.

Problem is, if I didn't, the APK won't upload to Cortex? "Apk error: Could not find res/drawable-xhdpi*/ouya_icon.png"

  • you can only use one type of object

if your game is for OUYA, means using OUYA object

you have to set your game like old OUYA games were done, via android properties, setting as OUYA and decide your type, in your case "Game", don't forget to add the Icon as is requested.

Please login to see this attachment.

if you want to send your game to Razer but via AndroidTV (you publish in Google Play Store) then you use the android tv object and set as "is a Game" using previous image few post above.

    =========================================

Just resubmitted an old game to newer portal and it was took without any issues so seems that the OUYA regulation are still valid.

  • No news yet, I’ll keep checking but they’re taking a bit longer with submissions now, even though there are fewer!

I submitted my latest test last week using the Android TV object extension that’s sold separately.
If that gets published though, I’ll have another go with the OUYA object and let you know how that goes. Been rejected like 5 times now. Lol.

With the latest Clickteam updates my games are fully functional, it’s just that they’re just turning up on the wrong row and getting rejected for it.

As I say, Bloo Kid 2 shows up in apps and somehow that’s allowed! wut?

I’m targeting Lollipop API (23?) and everything’s building great!

I hope Razer publishing can be done 'cause I feel that the Forge needs some SRR, Monocle Man and of course, Khaki Combat! lol.

  • Thank you so much for all your help, Fernando!

Khaki Combat is published on Razer Forge TV! Please login to see this link.

Like all my games, It's free to download.

I'm sorry I can't help Rosse with how IPAs or selling games will work but I do know for certain that the Android TV Object works great with the Forge!

    Tutorial coming soon ;)

  • Hi Doki,

Great work on getting Khaki Combat on the Forge, I will see if I can get the Ouya Object to work, but looking forward to your tutorials and believe me I would love to get SRR and Mr Monocle on it.
