Please - let me know if there is possibly anything more I can add to this?

I am currently working on a couple of projects that are teetering on the edge of release - so.... look somewhere here-ish!/watch this space!

  • Huzzah! the piano comparison was not intended but I can certainly see where your coming from there - anyways! The game is deliciously free - if you ever fancy a waltz in the explosive field of blocks

  • HAHA, our game is Cocktail Cube Challenge I made a thread for it here Please login to see this link.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it :D

By the way what did you use to create your trailer? I find that one of the hardest marketing things to create.

  • I work as a cameraman and editor for a living so I have access to alot of editing software like premiere and after effects. Its become pretty damn useful for me for trailers and such. This video explains a bit about that

I'm downloading your app now... I'll put a review on your thread and store page!

  • Oh that makes sense, which program would you suggest for creating trailers as I only use Windows Movie Maker although I remember using a great video editor when I studied Media in college but can't remember the name of that.

I will watch that video as soon as I can as really need some help with creating trailers.

Let me know when the review is up and I'll do the same for you.

  • Hi matey,

So I have downloaded it and found a bug on both the main menu and the how to play frame. Roughly every 20-30 seconds it jumps to the advert so if I was to review it that part would minus some stars off for me. I will hold off reviewing till you fix if you want as I imagine it's only a simple thing to sort out.

  • Advert being screwy eh? okay - I updated the apk file but it will be an hour or 2 so... its 1 in the morning here so I may be awaaaaayyyyy now. But thanks for the heads up anyways!

  • Hi matey,

Sorry about the wait I tried the game and gave it 4 stars, I like it although at first I wasn't sure if I was meant to tap the word nuke or bomb so died a fair few times from that. The visual effects look awesome.

  • Thanks man - I've been away in Berlin for debauchery and hangovers so I'm also late here. I'll make some amendments to the beginning to make it more intuitive. Thanks again!

I hate having adverts in my games but it is literally the only way on Googleplay as nobody buys anything.

Well, almost nobody. I myself am extremely wary of free games and almost never install them, since the horrible free2play models have all but killed the enjoyment of mobile gaming for me. I hate ads too. So I pretty much ignore everything on google play that is doesn't have a price.

But I'm aware that I'm in the small minority here, and that most people prefer grindy F2P mechanics and annoying ads than the thought of spending $1

  • It's not so much that people prefer grindy F2P mechanics on Google Play, it's because pirating a premium game is so easy compared to iOS. Therefore you will find a lot more free games on Google Play that use advertising and IAP to recoup money spent in development. I think there was some report on a paid game that had a 95% piracy rate on Google Play. So you can see why a lot of developers are wary of premium titles.

  • Good point about the rampant piracy. But that doesn't explain why F2P dominates iOS games too. Many games are made for iOS primarily, and then ported to Android later - certainly most of the major ones - so if they have F2P mechanics on the Android version, it's probably because they were already designed like that for iOS.

  • Well from how I see it - you can buy a game - simple enough on iOS for $1 and usually not expect a pay-to-win in game purchase mechanism. As you have already paid.

In contrast with free to play games which usually have a system of buying 'gold' or 'gems' for the same price, and usually alot more up to $50 on some games. All to buy extra upgrades or alter the look of your character. People if invested enough in a game that is free can justify to themselves to spend money on something they have already played and put time in. Whilst the un-certainty of a paid game leaves people wary.

    Just my 2 shiny coins
