Firefly - 3d in Fusion, Just released!

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Is there an estimated time to support Android? If Android is supported, I'll get it :) I'll also be waiting for more refined examples to analyze the power of this new tool.

Tap And Go! released on Google Play Please login to see this link.

  • Hello cel, do you have any feature suggestions for the world editor? It's still at an early stage and I would really like a list of things that would make editing scenes easier.

    Thanks

  • Very cool, only just found about this. Can't justify paying the cost though to see if i like it. Will there be a demo?

This should be given away to legacy 2.5 dev owners who paid massive costs (including costs of all the importers) and who felt rather cheated when it was all available on humble bundle for pittance. Honestly, i think i'm going to wait now before spending lots of money on clickteam products in case they show up on humble bundle.

  • Ls2: Get it on clickstore - the more People are buying it, the greater the chance to get iOS and Android extensions ;)

And to all there that are denigratin it by comparing to other AAA-Tools out there - if you're not interested in firefly - just leave this post without commenting - please...

  • Believe me: When I get my hands on this, I'll probably be able to demonstrate why it is worthwhile with my own 3D game that I made design documents for years ago. I've been waiting for this for so long, and now that it's finally here, well, the only thing keeping me from jumping right in is that I don't think I can afford it at the moment.

Only problem is, I have another 3D game idea as well, which I also have a few design documents for, which is a bit more recent... Eh, I think I'll go with the older one first, since it'd likely be easier to make with less 3D modelling experience due to the nature of it.

BTW, don't expect Quadratic Attack 3D to make the jump to Firefly, since it'd kinda require a full re-code of a game that's basically already done. Maybe for a sequel, if Fusion 3 isn't out by that point.

My Please login to see this link. (which I actually use), my Please login to see this link. (which I mostly don't use), and my Please login to see this link. (which I don't use anymore pretty much at all really). If there are awards for "'highest number of long forum posts", then I'd have probably won at least 1 by now. XD

  • One major thing that I've noticed is missing so far is a 3D level editor. Being able to see Z-Value adjustments in realtime is important, especially when it effects the gameplay, like the height of a platform in a 3D platformer.

For the most part though, I think the engine is looking pretty good. I'll wait to see what other people think before I go spending $80 though.

Also, I think the 2D-to-3D coordinates feature is interesting, it might allow people to make 2.5D versions of their existing games quickly.

  • I just got it to learn something new... I like new challenges

Plus I may be able to use it to for some workarounds... such as zoom out (which I am currently doing with easy grid object, window life object, window control object and scaling everything)... and will still be keeping it in 2D

  • There is a editor in the works, see the Sticky thread :)

  • Might buy it once some more videos of the workflow show up and android is added.

It does not stop me from being critical based on what I see, sorry if it sounded harsh-hopefully pointing out those things will help you compete.
I recently bought the babylon 3d addon for construct:

The biggest selling feature for me there was the speed and the file export support. It has an exporter for blender that can transfer the entire scene to the game engine- so I can set it up there and set the logic in c2.
You can also play their demos in the web browser - which sold me on it too.

Import/export is really important to me.
I will not spend that much until I see a video of someone exporting an animated mesh from blender to firefly and setting it up. Also the world editor sounds good - but it is nowhere to be seen in promo videos - so i am waiting for user videos.

I have used coppercube in the past and it was ok, even if limited. The world editor there had awful viewport camera navigation - not sure if they fixed that.

  • I just want to say thank you for all the incredible work. It is because of Clickteam that i can say I am an educational game developper. Your entire team is incredible and I will most definitely buy this addon.

I would like to ask one question that has probably already been asked and answered somewhere but that I have not seen: Can I export to HTML5? What are the build options right noe? Windows only? Regardless, I will buy it as soon as new build of Fusion dev becomes release.

  • Thank you everyone who replied to show me that there is indeed a 3D level editor :)

I wish there was more documentation and tutorials to show how you work with the engine. The only one available at launch is the Chocobreak tutorial, and that wasn't too deep.
