Light doesn;'t move properly when always set to camera's position

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • the camera is running faster than your events - at the start of the frame just set the parent of the light to be the camera fixed value.

  • due to the way our lights work at the moment they only bounce of a vertex, as you have a large tile size the vertices on your floor are quite far apart, if you switch them around

  • Thanks 4_and_a_half_star_games, I hi-jacked your .mfa as a starting foundation to try and create a pseudo-3D graphic FPS example. I liked the tiles that can help show the different anti-aliasing effects which is perfect as an example.

But I have a different lighting issue now:

[BUG/ISSUE] Build R287.9: As for the lighting, I have not been able to figure out why sometimes when I run the program it is bright and other times it is dim. No code or objects were changed.

    Thanks!

Edit: It looks like Firefly Engine -> Uncheck Cast Shadows helps give me the effect I want (bright) but doesn't explain why the program does it sometimes bright or dim. Maybe because 2 options are competing?

Edit 2: Apparently dynamic shadows are "in testing"

  • the current shadows bug sometimes cant find the object its supposed to put a shadow on (due to my incorrect coding) so it decides to put it on the camera - thus making everything under a shadow (hence the dark effect), i also left the shadows on by default (which they were for me testing :( ) and that caused some people to have issues when they shouldn't have.
