Hello, are their any examples or tutorials on how to approach maths for creating movement/animations?

I'm thinking like characters getting knocked over, bouncing once on the ground, knock backs, jumping pausing in the air then dropping faster than it went up etc...

How do you know what function to use, and how to tweak it to get the movement you're after?

Hey Janette5, thanks for having a go. I see what you have done, it's a different kind of loop around but I prefer the smooth loop that fredetmumu coded, just looks a bit neater to my eyes.

fredetmumu thanks for that, I had no idea about the stop all objects function.

It's really great but there is a slightly pause at the loop point, is there anyway to stop that?

Hi there, I've got a simple selection screen that works great to select from 0-9 objects. You can click it as fast as you like and it never breaks.
Currently it stops either end, ie you can't go past 0 or 9.

For the sake of learning I thought I'd try having it infinite, as in you could keep pressing up or down and once you reached 0 or 9 it would just loop around.

For instance you can keep clicking up and once the numbers get to 0 it wouldn't stop but would loop round to 9 and keep going, 8 7 etc..

I've tried many many attempts but I'm getting tripped up by strange results with the ease object, and the 2 things I can't get working with infinite that do work with my current settings are:

-You can click as fast as you like and it doesn't break
-You can click while the selection is still moving in either direction and it doesn't break it.

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks for the explanations. Interesting that it doesn't destroy all the numbers, but happy to know it's a quirk and my way round it works.

I have another question that may be another quirk? I want to stop the loop when it reaches the red blocks, so it's counting the squares upto and including the red blocks but not after it.

Oddly it seems to work sometimes and not others?

Yeah it's tricky when you're learning to know if what you're doing should work and you've come across a quirk or if you're doing something wrong.

I'm new to fast loops so I'm trying to understand things.

I've got a very simple example that shows my question, press the up or down arrow.

It's supposed to destroy any existing numbers and then use a fast loop to create some numbers next to the object.

Upon pressing up:
+Destroy objects
+Set object position
+Run fastloop

The numbers previously don't get destroyed.

But if I duplicate the action like this it works?

Upon pressing up:
+Destroy objects

Upon pressing up:
+Set object position
+Run fastloop

Just wondering what I'm missing? Is this a quirk or something I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

Hello so I centre an object in my game using the Android object and I'm using “Fit inside and adjust Window Size”:

Set X position to ScreenWidth( "Android object" )/2

This works great on all Android devices, but when I'm testing on my PC and build and run, this method of centering doesn't work I guess because it's doing it relative to my PC screen size?
Is there a different method I should be using just so I don;t have to build onto my Android device each time?

Bought and installed the new microphone, that seems to have stopped the crashing thanks!

Hi there, I recently updated to R292.10 to update my App on the Play store to 64bit.

Previously the app was fine and I had no problems, but now there's 2 things going wrong.

Build API: 28
Target Android 9
It builds with no errors and I'm testing on a Pixel 3.

-First problem is that when I try to record sound, which worked previously, the app now suddenly crashes. I'm using the standard Android Microphone extension which worked fine on my phone previously without crashing.

-Second problem is that the edge on objects seems to be causing problems, there's now a visible black line where there isn't on my PC when testing or on old versions on my phone.

In the first image the blue of the BG is the same as a blue box that is overlayed, you now see a black line where the blue rectangle overlays the blue BG, this line was never visible before and only shows on my phone.
In the second image the red line basically draws lots of itself and forms a solid red circle, but now on my phone you see a mess of patterns I suspect is the black line of the edge of each of the red lines being drawn ontop of each other.

Has anyone else encountered these problems? i need to fix it fast as the 64bit update needs to happen before 1st August, thanks!Please login to see this attachment.

Is there any clever maths or functions that can be used on the numbers that get generated from the Accelerometer to smooth them out?

The Accelerometer is so sensitive that even when holding it still the values are constantly changing, so I'm looking for a way to dampen/smooth simplify the numbers it generates.

Basically an image that is split into layers from foreground to background so that when you tilt the phone you get a sort of 3D depth parallax effect by the images moving slightly different amounts, like you're looking around the image.

I know it'll be using the Accelerometer, just not exactly sure how and wondered if anyone had any tips. Thanks.
