You can use the directshow object for this.
when i do this the video doesn't play its just a white screen
i did play at the start of the frame

You should not have any problem with playing it then jumping to another frame after its ended.

Well ok then...... Here is a VERY simple file for you.
Download it and then run it. It will play an animation and then will jump to the next frame when it ends.
Just look at how I have done it, and use the code in your program.... It is REALLY simple so you should not have any problem with it. :)
Oh, and its always better imho to use .avi files.

okay, it couldn't find your video so i replaced it with my video and now it plays the audio but not the actual video its just a grey box
Thats odd.... Is you video an AVI file?
It could be a video codec issue, what video format are you trying to import and what codec are you using?
