Re: Multimedia Fusion 2 Extension Manager & Packer

Below a new list:
-Active Overlay Object v1.0.1
-Function Egg Timer Object v1.0
-Perspective Object v1.0
-Pipe Object v1.0
-Viewport Object v1.0
-Associative Array Object v1.21 - Removed
-Boolean Object Object v1.09 - Removed
-Color Dialog Object v1.04 - Removed
-Custom Object v1.06 - Removed
-Default Menu Options Object v1.01 - Removed
-Expression Evaluator Object v1.07 - Removed
-Immediate If Object v2.01 - Removed
-Overlay Object v3.06 - Removed
-System Tray Object v1.06 - Removed
-UHSD Object v1.04 - Removed

Re: Multimedia Fusion 2 Extension Manager & Packer
Nice little App <img src="/center/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Does it/will it also do movements and transitions after those SDKs come out?
Maybe for extensions/movements not on the download system it could have a list of external links where the person can go get them?
Some screen to compare all the extensions a person has installed with all the extensions registered with the download program might be handy later when extensions start pouring out.
There seems to be something weird with the pipe extension as it gets a data type mismatch when it tries to install?
Also does a person need to install the extension twice? Once for edit time and once for runtime? If so a one button choice might be handy <img src="/center/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Re: Multimedia Fusion 2 Extension Manager & Packer
Hm... well it's good that we have different ways of getting extensions and all, but MMF2AO, and now this came out, and it's AWESOME, but... hopefully there wont be any ruccuss on who uses what...
Some people are going to wanna use this, while others prefer MMF2AO.
I just thought I'd point that out. It's great that you made this, but why, if MMF2AO (already out, and used) is here?

Re: Multimedia Fusion 2 Extension Manager & Packer
I like both apps.
What I really like about this one is the listing of available extensions.
Hopefully at some point the other extension installer also does something like this.
I would even like to see the listing info expand -- So it could tell you more about the extension before you download it.
Who made it, what it does, what category it fits into, and so forth.
I know we have 2 applications that do the same thing but in the spirit of friendly competition it will be neat to watch them both improve and become more and more complete.

Re: Multimedia Fusion 2 Extension Manager & Packer
Thinking about it -- What I need is a feature to list extensions on the server that I have not yet installed for MMF2. Then quickly I can see if anything is new.
Hmmm I wonder if you can get the version number somehow from the installed extension so you can even know if a new version is out? That might be asking a bit much but you never know. I suppose the app could write an INI when it installs extensions for you tracking the current version number it installed for easy comparison.

Re: Multimedia Fusion 2 Extension Manager & Packer
Every extension should be specifying a "File Version" attribute on built files. If the File object can retrieve this, you'll be able to do what you want.

Re: Multimedia Fusion 2 Extension Manager & Packer
Thanks for all the comments Jeff. I really apriciate that. I think i know what your aiming for and i agree that is a good idea... ill get it on the list for the next release.
The software is written in Visual Basic thus allowing you todo practicly anything as a software developer.
Anny comments of extension developers are verry welcome because i love to suit your needs at this point.

After using your program I find this in my extensions list. Fun stuff.

Re: Multimedia Fusion 2 Extension Manager & Packer
wasnt a feature of MMF2 supposed to search for extensions that were needed?
id much rather stick to something like that, not someone elses idea of renaming/inserting objects no matter how nice they were.
