Re: Horrible Event Editor Bug: Lost HOURS of Work!
[]The two things I avoided when redoing it were: messing with global strings at all and adding so many actions to a single event cell that it couldn't list them all in the hover-over description.[/]
Adding a million actions to a single event cell would crash CNC (precursor to MMF) for me all the time. I doubt the global strings caused any problems. So far, I've had one (seemingly unprovoked) "bad object attack" in MMF2, but I keep lots of backups.

Oops, crap, I meant to reply to this thread:

I didn't get this bug, again, but the one in the thread above: basically, a "bug" (well, more like non-obvious feature) with cutting & pasting events that contain the only creation actions for objects.
Please ignore this thread, sorry about that... :/

Re: Horrible Event Editor Bug: Lost HOURS of Work!
I've experienced the same bug twice in the same 20minutes!
I think I can resimulate it with my project file. The last time I did exactly the same procedure, which was adding 3 entries for the ini file to save, I then saved it in mmf, and pressed F8 straight after. Then that message comes up.
I managed to come back from the first bug using a previous savefile and copy pasting the code from the bad one to the good one. It changed an active object into the Mouse and Keyboard object!!! the event was Mouse and Keyboard alterable value F = 3!! LOL Well mixed up!! So somehow MMF turned my active object into the Mouse and keyboard object!
The events are still more or less there, but it is hidden when it corrupts.. Copy and pasting from the bad file to the older file restores the events, but also brings the 'dodgy' ones with it. But it allows you to change them which the original corrupt file does not.
You need to fix this guys!!!!!
Just let me know who to forward my project to, and I'll include some instructions on how to recreate the bug..
