Some MMF oddities (WinME-related?)
I realize that these problems could be caused by my running an outdated OS (Windows ME), however, I can't upgrade to XP right now due to technical/family issues.
Oddity #1: I have chosen to view properties in a seperate window. Now, whenever I view something's properties, the whole MMF application decides that it will always appear over of my taskbar, ignoring the "Always on top" taskbar preference! And since I always run MMF maximized, this makes accessing my taskbar very inconvienient.
Oddity #2: In the MMF 1.5 animation editor, I could click on an empty direction on the direction selector, and it would provide me with a neat little dialog box to help me create a new direction. In MMF 2, clicking on an empty direction on the direction selector does NOTHING! Except for giving me a garbage image. And none of the functions that will allow me to create a new frame will work. This means that the only way I can create new directions is to right-click an existing one and create its rotated/opposite directions, which, of course, is not doable for an animation which has no directions yet.
I hope Clickteam can cure these oddities. If you're using XP, I've seen "compatibility modes" that might help you get to the bottom of this.
P. S.: I'm using the latest build of MMF, R242.
Re: Some MMF oddities (WinME-related?)
1. Yes, I can reproduce it with Windows Me, but only when you drag the MMF2 window. If you maximize the MMF2 window, it's correctly sized (i.e. it doesn't overwrite the task bar). I cannot reproduce it with Windows XP, so I'm not sure if we can fix it...
2. When you click an empty direction, MMF2 automatically creates a new image, just draw into this image. It seems that the content of the image is not cleared under Windows ME though, as you say ("garbage image"). Just click the New button to clear the content of the image. I'll fix this problem.
Yves.
Re: Some MMF oddities (WinME-related?)
I tried windows ME and ended up switching back to Window 98 SE.
ME was just to restrictive.
I now never ever will run ME but Windows 98 SE on any old hardware.

Hm, perhaps I should've mentioned that I have "Auto-hide" enabled for my taskbar. That is most likely one of the factors causing this to happen.

I can clear the image, but attempting to draw in it does nothing. I'm still stuck...

Odd... I can draw in the image, no problem on my machine. Have you tried to select various colors and tools?

Huh. It works now. :-|
Well, thanks for your help...
