"Hiccup" in the 3D Mesh object.
Since the debut of the 3D mesh object, I decided to take up modeling again. I downloaded Milkshape as my modeler of choice.
Well, I created a character animation, with an idle/dancing sort of animation. But when I load it into the 3D Mesh object in MMF, there is an extra "hiccup" frame at the end.
Once the animation is through, the last frame the character explodes. That is, all of his limbs become seperated, and are placed in an odd spot around where the origin is.
But the animation loops just fine. Once the hiccup is done, it repeats the animation. But at the end of every animation loop, it hiccups again.
This hiccup doesnt occur in Milkshape's animation viewer. It only occurs when loaded into MMF's 3D Mesh object. I didnt notice this problem in the example files for 3D mesh. Is it compatibility problems with Milkshape and 3D Mesh?
Either way, I dont know what to do about it.
Any thoughts?
Re: "Hiccup" in the 3D Mesh object.
Send an example MFA to turboferet so he can check it out.
Thats about all I can suggest.
Re: "Hiccup" in the 3D Mesh object.
Alright then, I'll get to that. Thanks.
EDIT: I'm sorry. I did a bit of research, and found that Direct X files are the most compatible.
Yes, it seems it was an imcompatiblitity with the Milkshape files (ms3d) and exporting it as a DirectX (.x) file removed the glitch.
So a note to anyone who reads this, export as a DirectX file. Its the most compatible apparently. Makes sense.
Re: "Hiccup" in the 3D Mesh object.
Glad it worked out. The problem with the Milkshape format might be fixed in the latest version of the Irrlicht engine. In that case, it will be fixed in the next version of the 3D mesh object.
Re: "Hiccup" in the 3D Mesh object.
Alright, because thats the only problem I am having with the Milkshape format. I'm actually having more problems with the DirectX format, now that I've played with it a little.
It wont let me load more than one .x files at runtime. And it doesnt allow me to change textures on a .x model at run time. The model just goes black.
So yeah, I'll awaiting that new release!
