Custom Platform Movement Tutorial Bug?!
Hello everybody! I'm new to the forums as well as to Multimedia Fusion and wanted to introduce myself right away with a problem I encountered. ;)
I recently downloaded the demo of MMF 2 and already completed a couple of tutorials so I have a basic overview of the program and it's features. Now I wanted to take it a step further and see how more advanced things can be done with MMF, so I downloaded the custom platform movement tutorial written by David N, which can be found at the bottom of the clickteam tutorial page (http://www.clickteam.com/eng/learning_resources.php).
Unfortunately I have the problem, that when executing the example and testing any of the frames, the jumping doesn't work! When pressing shift, the player object just moves upwards until it hits a backdrop object or leaves the screen, but the gravitiy doesn't seem to work at all.
This seemed a bit strange to me, so I asked in the Click Chat, but nobody else seemed to have that problem.
Now my question is: does anybody know what could be wrong? Possibly a bug in the demo version of MMF? Or in the example? Or something completely different? Anyone who has the same problem?
I would greatly appreciate any help on this! Even if you know of another tutorial that shows the same thing with a different technique, please let me know! Thanks in advance!
Re: Custom Platform Movement Tutorial Bug?!
What build of MMF2 are you using?
Re: Custom Platform Movement Tutorial Bug?!
It's the one that you download from here:
http://www.clickteam.com/eng/downloadcenter.php?i=153
Build D241, to be precise.
Re: Custom Platform Movement Tutorial Bug?!
243 was released and you can get it on the sidebar --->
We need to go update the download center
Edit -- Ah if you have the demo it will not work.
Its not a current build - I will make a note on the tutorial page.
Re: Custom Platform Movement Tutorial Bug?!
Hmm well, too bad. But thanks for the information though - I'm over GlobWars Tutorial right now anyway. ;)
Re: Custom Platform Movement Tutorial Bug?!
You had me worried there, but if it happens in the example as well, it's probably just because of using the different versions. It's odd, that... I don't recall using anything that was changed between the versions (unless fastloops were changed a huge amount).
