[New Extension] NiffZip

This is version 1.0 of NiffZip, which I payed Jam (aquadasoft) to create. The source is available within the zip file.

I think he did a great job on it.

Unlike Herb's more advanced Zip object, this one is more basic, but has some advantages.

* It can also delete directory structures.
* It returns progress in %
* All conditions works.

It should be stable, as long as you do not multitask compression, extraction, and deleting. The extension is not made for that, and is likely to crash if you try. So let it do one task at a time.

Thanks for releasing an extension you paid for, that's pretty nice. And thanks very much for making this open source too, this is appreciated.

Well, I only have the interest of the functionality of the extension, I can't see a reason to keep it for myself. I guess that's an advantage of computers - you can give something to someone, and still have it yourself :)

I can highly recommend Jam if you need to pay someone for an extension you need. He created it quickly, payment was simple (paypal), and although there was one or two minor problems, he was really quick to fix them as soon as I discovered them.

I might be interested in a fade object in the future. ^_^; I'll keep you in mind!

You could always create multiple objects :)

Yeah, that's one solution for those who actually have a reason to do it. I'll stick to one task at a time though...

Maybe you can avoid the crash by cancel the previous task when a new one is asked to be done ?

Yeah. An "Abort current task" action could be handy too. However, I never requested that. The source is open though, so an extension developer should be able to add it.

It seems to work fine to me, I just wanted to request (even though you didn't need it) if the extension could extract one file at a time? That would be really useful, and also, but not as important, could I request that the extension is able to password protect itself? Thanks.

Well, Jam would be the one who have to add that. If you offer him some moneys, I'm sure he might add it :)

A zip object that's stable? Sweet! ^_^

Now we just need an ID3 tag getting object that doesn't crash. ;p

And maybe we'll have one soon.... ;D

Anyways, I've had some weird problems with the current version of NiffZip. Deleting doesn't work sometimes, and extraction can cause abnormal program termination, and sometimes half the content of a zip file is extracted in a place outside the directory it's supposed to extract the content to, while the other half end up in the right directory...

Hopefully, Jam can fix this though. It would be great if more of you could confirm the problems I've been having, and figure out how to reproduce them...

I tried zipping one of my mmf2 open source files and It caused a crass with some weird error about an exe file in the runtime folder. It might also have been because I added the extension to always: set progress to a horizontal counter bar.

Nope, your use of "always" is correct.
