I need a bespoke extension developing - will pay!
I am thinking of holding a reverse auction here. "Reverse auction!?" is what you're thinking, right? Well, basically, let me start from the beginning...
Not so long ago, I contacted Yves asking if he could make some changes to the Rich Edit object. He kept saying "contact me in another two weeks", etc., and I don't blame him. He has a lot on his plate.
So, if I'm to pay for an extension, I want it to have a bit more. Basically, I am creating an editor for a game. Users will be able to format the text using tags, HTML-style. There is currently no extension that allows different formatting (in paticular, colour) in one string, that also supports transparency.
I need one of you guys to do this for me, then. I can give you more details - I just want to know if anyone's going to take this seriously. I'm not financially well right now, so, the most I'll give for an extension, is... £110. What I mean by reverse auction, is, I start by offering £110 to the first developer who can do this. Then, if another developer wants to do it, they can offer to do it for a little less, e.g. £100.
So, I kinda posted this in a rush. Anyone interested? Also, if this happens, I want to be the only person to have this extension. I am the sharing type, but when we're talking around the £100 mark, I'd be a bit too generous. If £110 isn't enough for you, then that's too bad for both of us. I can't see it as being a huge job.
Re: I need a bespoke extension developing - will pay!
I don't have time to do this right now, but a word of advice would be to make sure the developer that you are contracting has samples of work to show that are the same complexity level as what you want to do. Also note that if you go for the cheapest developer then you might lose quality in the process ;)
Re: I need a bespoke extension developing - will pay!
Thanks vortex. It's not a really complex extension. Then again, I'm not a 'proper programmer' like the developers, so I don't know how difficult it'd really be. In short, it's just a formatted text object, with support for tags (e.g. <b></b> or <c=226679></c>) and transparency. I just really need formatting that varies in a single string. :)
