[BETA] Advanced Sound Object
Hello!
I'm currently developing an advanced sound object, similar to ModFusion eX 3. Unfortunately, ModFusion had more than its fair share of bugs, crashes, etc. etc. Although most of these have been eliminated so far in this object, there is no doubt in my mind that several bugs will arise.
If you'd like to beta test this object, please email me at
josh AT syntesis.org
with the subject "BETA TEST ONU"
Please include some information about yourself, such as your name, the number of years experience you have with Clickteam products, a website, and such stuff like that. Also include your FORUM USERNAME. If you don't, I'll skip right over you.
Chances are good that I'll contact you back. I should have the first beta ready shortly. Here is some more information:
The object is actually a set of several objects. There is a Core audio plugin that controls the output. By itself it can only play sound with the use of a Winamp input plugin and a filename. Of course, that is just an additional feature, and is not required. It primarily depends on external "Engineer" plugins that are connected to the output plugin via "Decks" that supply the sound source. There is also a special engineer called the "Visualization" engineer that controls generating data for Visualization plugins, such as the Volume Meter and Oscilloscope plugins.
All of these objects connect to eachother via virtual "cables."
Although it won't be in the first beta, there will also be a "DJ" plugin, which can control the main plugin with simplified functions.
Thanks!
Josh
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
Wow that sounds like an awesome extension :). Will it be possible for other developers to develop new plugins?
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
Yes, I'll be creating SDK templates. You can create engineers, visualizations, and anything you can think of that can use these interfaces.
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
That would be cool, but it would require an SDK, would it not? Anyway, i sent my email... I hope the visualization/wave form part, however you worked it, works out!
EDIT: Great! An extension with extensions! That's kinda cool... but, cool about the SDK. I look frward to the final release.
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
"josh AT syntesis.org" means josh AT syntesis.org (with AT meaning @) , right? and it is @syntesis.org and not @synthesis.org, right?

Yes, syntesis.org and not synthesis.org.

Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
Thanks. Sorry to go off topic there...
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
Okay... to all other beta testers and TwiTerror:
How do I make the object play a file? I don't usually work with sound stuff on the computer period, so I don't really know what i'm supposed to do...
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
Check your email, there was an example in the last email :D
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
Oh. I see that now. it just appeared in my inbox five minutes ago, literally. Hotmail can be very slow...
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
Sounds like a spin off from Buzz http://www.buzzmachines.com/
Where did you get the inspiration from Twi? Buzz or Reason?
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
Well, neither really. I've used both briefly, but in reality Buzz and Reason mock an actual sound setup. As a composer, it's what I'm used to, and that's what led to this setup. (:
Granted, the end result isn't to make music like Buzz or Reason do, but just to play music with advanced capabilities. Theoretically, if sound generation plugins were developed, or even a VSTi plugin (oh my gosh what a sick and twisted idea is developing here), then it's possible.
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
A vst Pugin :D Hold on Twi, this is a Sick idea wash your brain out :)
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
Something like that isn't gonna show up for a while, so I really do need to wash my brain out XD
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
As for this extension, can the play to which the sound as the sound effect
comes in succession like DMC2 be done?
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
VST! That would be interesting, lol :p
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
Could you PLEASE add a function to it that's like play and loop sound file, but have extra setting windows pop up after you pick the file to play that allow you to define the start and end of the loop of the file?
Re: [BETA] Advanced Sound Object
Corlen > That is something I've implemented in the TSE2 music extension, and I plan on bringing over to Onu shortly :D
