[Request] Organized Alt Values
Hey everyone,
I'm a really pedantic kind of person, probably with a little bit of OCD thrown in there and because of this I would really like a way of organising alterable values better. For instance, there is a button to create a new alterable value, but no button to delete one. If I make a value and then decide I don't want to use it something starts kicking me in the back of my head to clean up the 'mess' - which I can't.
Another thing that I really want is the ability to reorganise the values. Say I made a list of values: Gun 1 Ammo, Gun 2 Ammo, Gun 3 Ammo, Health, Score.
There's a massive problem when I want to add a 4th gun. Sure I can create a new alt value, but the problem is that it will appear at the end of the list >> Gun 1 Ammo, Gun 2 Ammo, Gun 3 Ammo, Health, Score, Gun 4 Ammo.
Again, the program will run fine, but to me, it's a little bit unorganised and messy. I have an urge to keep it clean.
Thank you, and I hope you can do something to help my pedantic nature in the future.
Re: [Request] Organized Alt Values
You can always only delete the last one. Just click on it and press "DEL" on the keyboard.
But I agree, I'd also welcome it, if it was easier to change the order of alterable and global values and strings.
Re: [Request] Organized Alt Values
Ahh, thanks for that Random. But an easy way to reorganise them would still be useful :)
Re: [Request] Organized Alt Values
I have a little bit of an OCD about stuff like that too, once or twice i've reprogrammed a bit of an application so that i can reorder the alterable values into a nice order. It's also incredibly annoying that you can only delete the last one on the list.
On a similar note, is there going to be any update on the ordering of objects down the side of the frame editor? For example putting them in folders? It's a real nightmare when you have 100 odd objects and you have to find the right one.

Um, you can put them in folders. To create a folder just select the frame and go Insert->New Folder in the menubar or right click on the frame and select New Folder from the context menu.

Oh. My. God.
I've used MMF2 since it came out, and MMF1.5 since not long after it came out and i NEVER knew you could do that.
Joshtek, I love you!
Re: [Request] Organized Alt Values
Haha, I love it when you realize something like this..
Re: [Request] Organized Alt Values
WOW I never new that.
That makes life mush easier.
Re: [Request] Organized Alt Values
Yeah, it would've been a lot easier if it popped up when you right click the objects area, that's where I'd expect it to be, and the majority of people would look.
Re: [Request] Organized Alt Values
It would be better if you could have a folder within folder, or can you already do that Joshtek?
Re: [Request] Organized Alt Values
Wow I never knew either... how many more things can there be that we don't know about!? Should be on the right click though... Apparently no folders within folders nickydude :(
