I think it will be an extension like viewport object but with coefficient (x2, x4, x8) and with this algorythm applied. :)
So we'll be able to have nice looking small realtime games in a better resolution.

I think it's almost there - although in the Yoshi example you notice some ugly artifacts between the letters.. and the square example is somewhat cleaner in HQ2.
It will be a Viewport-like object.
It should hopefully run on ~60 FPS in images originally 320*240 after it's optimized. The non optimized version runs on 24 FPS on 256*224 images. Not bad for not optimized code. :P
