Hi
When is Get Object vitalized?
Thanks
You can use it right now in a Java applet and I think Jamie is sending it in to be Vitalized.
It's Vitalized now.
This list has not been updated in a year and a half. Is it up-to-date? And if not, is there a way we can check which extensions are vitalized ourselves?
Yes - Build a CCN and see if it works.
I want to know which extensions are vitalized BEFORE starting a project. Is there a way of doing this other than downloading every extension, putting them all in a frame, building the CCN and seeing where I get errors? ;)
From what I've read from the posts lately about Vitalize, I think the plan is to phase Vitalize out and phase Flash and Java convertors in. Personally, I think that would be a mistake and a shame. I'm sure Clickteam know things that I don't, so hopefully it will work out.
Steve
Well Vitalize, Flash, and Java each have their individual strengths. So while I love seeing these new build formats developing, I can't see Vitalize going away unless it is replaced by something as powerful.
The only bad thing I can see with Vitalize is that it can only be installed / run on a Windows OS :(
And that it has to be installed - not very well known.
The users on my website have complained of me trying to force them to install programs on their computer without them asking :p its annoying so I put a huge notice but I've already lost the viewers.
I'm using these extensions on a current project.
Oink
Web Control
Numeric Up-Down Control
The rest I'm using I know they are Vitalized. How about these?
Any help will suffice. Thank you.
Hi , you can check out jaffob 's extension view
which is a nice way to learn about extensions.
But you can also BUILD the .ccn ( = the vitalized app ) even if not finished. It seems that it will tell you whether such or such extension is NOT compatible.
Thank you for yer help. I'll check it out.
would it be possible to Vitalize the ini++ object?
It could load ini files in a read only state from the server, or from the users computer.
And could save in a similar fashion as the original ini object. Is this possible?
Has there been any word on whether or not the Function Loop object will be Vitalized in the future? I use it quite extensively, and I'm curious to know if the extension is useful/popular enough to warrant conversion to Vitalize and/or Flash.
You know, his post is over 5 months old.
Formatted text, is it vitalized?
Also lacewing, is it? Because it is not in the list.
If they are not on the list then they are not.
Marv
Formatted text is vitalized, it is on the list.
Lacewing is not, but Jamie plans to do it.
Very good LB.
Marv
Vitalizing Lacewing would be waste of time.
I agree. With the swf exporter and java, I see no need to convert Lacewing to Vitalize.
You would give up UDP?
Yep.
And you would give up all the features vitalize has that flash doesn't?
Yep.
Marv
Well, I wouldn't. Not today. Not any day. I personally prefer vitalize over flash because it is more secure and works much better for the purposes I am using it for.
Ok.
Marv
So far, I'd have to agree with LB. Tring to port most of my already created applications to Flash has been either impossible or quite time consuming. Maybe when I have the time to start an application from scratch and make it totally Flash compatible, I'll feel differently. But for now, I sure don't want to see Vitalize go away anytime soon.
Steve
Another reason to continue support for vitalize is that Clickteam can control it and do whatever needs to be done with it, whil Clicktram has absolutely no control over flash, java, or any of those mobile runtimes.
Didn't I read on the forums that CT will continue support for Vitalize? It may be a mute statement regarding support being dropped.
Marv
That was not the impression I got from the posts I've read on the site.
Steve
Ok.
Marv
Vitalize will be dropped it was stated by CT not one and not twice - for example at last Click Conventiom.
Why? Because only Yves is magic man from Vitalize! And he looses lots of time and energy to make it so satisfying.
Still the sad thing is that Corel and IMSI and Europress miss the oppurtunity and didn't promote Vitalize ass alternative for Flash. And still its pitty cause its freaking compatible and fast, but somehow you have to make few steps back to change a route for a better one in longer perspective.
From where and by whom did you hear Vitalize was being dropped. What do you mean by "dropped".
Marv
nivram, it was stated by Clickteam several times that they are seriously thinking about dropping it especially now with all the exporters :/ Just check Vitalize! future thread.
