Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
Update : a new version has been uploaded (4.0.248.1). Fixes & changes :
- the embeded binary files didn't work.
- Vitalize! now supports Apppath$ or Appdrive$+Appdir$. This allows you to build the same MFA file either as stand-alone app or Vitalize! app without changes if you dynamically load external files.
- Vitalize! no longer runs TGF1 / MMF1 applications if the new Sounds & Music parameters are used to disable sounds and/or music.

Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
I cleared the cache and it won't load. However, the crash won't reproduce, either.
-
Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
Which makes sense, somehow, as if it doesn't run, it can't crash :)

Hey Rando, Happy Birthday ! :D

Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
Hey guys, do you think it would be too much trouble to add support for a Linux version of the plugin? I'm using Kubuntu Linux with Firefox and I'd like to start testing Vitalize! games on Linux to see how well they run.
If not, than it's okay. Just hoping there would be.

*sigh* there is no linux version, why they have the java runtime

Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
CT mentioned something about Linux version made in Java but it surely won't be released before 2010..

Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
@Fano, thanks for the info
@neat_, I can see your point for the Vitalize! plugin.
On the other hand, it actually would be cool to have a Linux version of the actual program that could run exclusively on Linux that can compile in only Java instead of a specialized "Linux code".
Example:
Windows Ver compiles Windows Executables & Java Apps
Linux Ver compiles Java Apps only
This way, there's an alternative, but that's just an idea that probably doesn't belong here. XD
Here's hoping for the speedy succession of the Java Runtimes so that us "other OS users" can have some fun with Click games.

Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
Ah Jessy sorry :) Francois at Klikcast episode 4 (there is link at forums) mentioned about Java version for Mac. But if main interfance would be in Java it also should be useable at Linux.

Very true. Seeing as Java has no real platform, it should work under Linux, Mac and even Windows. Here's hoping for the best! ;D

and *bsd, QNX, and similiar OS's... What would be cool is if you could make a command line application (select when you make a new file in MMF2) so that you can make GFX programs for java or just command line programs, that way you can make server java programs and see the output on a console without needing more RAM and CPU usage with the GUI :)

Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
Hi
Is V4 now officially out? I suppose no because the frontpage still links to V3.
-
Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
Yeah, where and when is v4? Can we release things on public pages yet? What is the hold-up?
-
Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
V4 still isn't released officialy and this is why after V4 window is link still to V3 install.
-
Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
Yes sorry, the current version is the final version but due to the holidays we haven't made it official yet. We'll do it this week.
-
Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
No problem Yves. We will wait few hours/days for an official information and link :)

Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
Now that V3 has been replaced by V4 on the Vitalize page isn't an official confirmation in order? Because the way I see it, when it's on Clickteams official Vitalize page (and not hidden via a link on the forums as before)it must be out?

Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
Yes we will do this shortly.

Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
I'm having trouble installing the plugin for Vitalize 4 for FireFox 3. I have to manually install it by going to the vitalize page (FireFox say's it's a missing plugin and won't automatically install it). FireFox's plugin window pops up and downloads the plugin, but that's it, it doesn't say anywhere that the plugin has been installed and when I try to play vitalized games, the picture of the little lego brick appears and it tells me there's a missing plugin!!

Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
I get this aswell Nickydude :(
I have to use IE 7 atm to play vitalize games :(
-
Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
What's the current version of Vitalize (for the embedded page)? 4,0,248,1?
-
Re: Vitalize! 4 (pre-release version)
Still having trouble installing the plugin (for the advent calendar), I get the following error:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Firefox could not install the file at
http://www.clickteam.com/vitalize4/vitalize.xpi
because Install script not found
-204
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, even weirder is that I have IE Tab plugin which lets me switch back and forth between the Firefox engine and the IE engine in FireFox. I switch to the IE engine and I can see the calendar, switch back to FF... and I can see the calendar!
Seems like switching activated Vitalize for FireFox, for whatever reason.
